I am assuming they are bogus just like his drug claims since he was sued and settled for $1 million for false advertising in the state of California. He said his pillows "cured" migraines, so he tends to throw that term cure around a lot with no evidence.

A decade ago, FedEx Ground successfully sued to get the D.C. Circuit to invalidate a Labor Board order requiring it to negotiate with its drivers. The court ruled the drivers were independent contractors, not employees. FedEx's victorious lawyer?

As simple as this may seem, the main point of being independent was that fedex was not "setting our hours" which would indeed make us "employees." I actually would have been the number 1 independent contractor if they would have started in Md instead of New Hampshire. My contract number is 37. There are now 27,000 contractors. Anyway, they have over 100 lawyers who have there own building. WHY? Fedex bought out RPS, That is where I started in 1993. I had no problem earning what I worked for - I was never a "Union" guy. I had zero problem with unions and agreed that that were always getting less than fair wages. But, as the years advanced, the tide turned and unions did exactly what was being done to them. Unions turned the tide and took advantage of management (Deservedly so). I know in my heart that Fedex puts the screws to us in so many ways but has us by the balls. However, we do make a comfortable existence and it is a damn if you do and damn if you don't . Basically, we are only independent at their convenience. If you raise the roof, your screwed. It's catch 22 - I have 9 employees who I seriously try to take care of. I cannot make their lives extravagant as I would like to- I try to take care of them (Not to the extent I want to)because of the ignorance of the system. Let me give you an example -If my driver has an at-fault-accident, It may cost my 20 grand- WTF is that? So, basically if I have 3 drivers have at-fault-accidents, I make Fkin nothin for that year. that is fkd up. Now I'm screaming, if we were union , you wouldn't get away with that bullshit. Anyway, i'm rambling , but you get the gist. Fkd either way.

I remember Roadway Express because my wife's aunt had their stock in the family for years & my wife ended up inheriting the FedEx stock.

CEO Smith was heralded as the next "Jack Welch" & that fits because they are both pricks but yet they were loved by stockholders.

I've read that Smith is a logistics genius and from a pure service point of view, it's great for the customers who are given the ability to track their package from the warehouse to the front door.

You can probably name the top 10 companies that really take care of their employees. But it seems the bigger the company becomes, employees are no longer considered their #1 asset & that really sucks.

If she inherited stock from Rps to fedex then she rocked. I did the same thing. Initially, I got for 20 bucks. fedex bought us and stock split.2 for 1.Hell yea. I had 1000 shares at 20 instantly. Shit today is at 206. I still have. hope shit hits 260 by December. Were delivering Smart post and stock is skyrocketing. I'm thinkin close to 300 end of year. purchased a big conglomerant (Spelling?) in Europe. Fred Smith lives on a golf course (Riverwood) in NC. I thought bout stopping by and ringing his doorbell. I owe my world to this man and have done well, but, would still like to give him a reality check how the grunts are being short-changed, Jacks my ass that the 500 million advertising budget short-changes the blood-line. Stay real brother.
