Trump falsely claims Biden plans to shut down oil and gas drilling and fracking.  This is debunked by politifact, facebook and factcheck.org.  Actually, official campaign position is to ban new permits on federal lands.  Vast majority of oil and gas doesn't come from federal lands.  That has been Biden's consistent position, stated frequently and in writing.  Also no more subsidies for fossil fuel industry.  Due to global warming, the world needs to move toward a future less dependent on fossil fuels. 

58 million Americans have already voted 9 days ahead of the election.

My volunteer job has turned into a 7 hour day M-F.

Voters are keeping us busy with a steady stream & surprising enough, people have been decent. I think the cop in the parking lot sends a strong message for everyone to stay cool. I'm seeing people I've never seen before in town at the grocery, bars/restaurants etc. 

People understand how important this election is up & down the card. It's great to see people doing their civic duty.

I agree with all that, especially no more subsidies for fossil fuel industry.  I would rather they subsidize the clean energy industry for a few years....

According to propublica, records show Trump border wall costs taxpayers billions more than initial contracts.  About 5 times more per mile than under Bush and Obama administrations.  No bid contracts are awarded to benefit companies that donated to Trump.  When Trump first touted his border wall, he promise it would cost $8 billion and Mexico would pay for it.  But most of the work replaces existing barriers.  So controversial wall really isn't necessary.  Now Project on government oversight is concerned about spiraling costs out of control.  DHS office of inspector general says costs increase exponentially due to poor planning in rush to build wall.  Government accountability office is investigating.  Corrupt Trump administration has failed to protect taxpayers from excess costs.

At the voting table today, a Piggy supporter told me that if he didn't win the election she was going to leave the country.

I broke the news to her that most countries have banned American citizens during covid.

She gave me the oddest look while she walked away.

Heard that quite a lot when Barack Obama won his first presidency. Many of them vented to immigrate to Canada, the thing is Canada is more of a socialism nation than here in the States. And I suppose that many of them dislike socialism, but socialism works better during the Covid-19 pandemic.* Mixture of capitalism and socialism might be the way to success.
