I was in West Palm Beach this morning & decided to drive by Mar A Lago. You can't see much from the beach along A1A but there's all kinds of dead bushes along the Mar A Lago 10 foot wall which really surprised me. But my wife said it's the cities job to clean that up & not Trump's.
As you approach Mar A Lago from the east you can see a humongous American flag flying on the property. It's the largest flag I've ever seen except for the flags unfurled at sporting events.
As you get closer to the property the flashing blue police lights can be seen & there were 2 cars there. You get a much better view of the place heading west over the bridge but seeing it by boat is the best view although you can't get anywhere close to the property as the Coast Guard regularly patrols that part of the waterway.
We were told the city is preparing for Trump for when he leaves office & lives permanently at the resort. Traffic becomes a real hassle with waits to go over bridges up to a half hour. Many of the people who live in the town have "old money" and wealthier than Piggy could even imagine. They don't care for the interruptions into their quiet little worlds where they have always called the shots on what did and didn't happen in town.
Housing is very expensive & almost non-existent east of the waterway. Secret Service always stayed at the resort but now need their own housing.
Mar A Lago is a very old property that had to be updated when he became president but those were just band aids. Now that the family will be there permanently, changes need to be made & the city doesn't give construction permits easily no matter who you are.
Can't see Melania staying down here & missing the NYC scene for very long.

I think I'm going to do one better. I live in a small town of 20,000 in the whole county. City has about 5000 people. I am good friend with the mayor and my brother-in-law is on the city council. I'm going to get with them and do a meal for the city police and firefighters. Hell, can't be more than 50 total. Know most of them. I'll get the mayor there to blow smoke up the local media's ass. I'll co-sponsor the event with you and sundance. See if I can get it in the local paper. if that happens I'll forward the article to ya. Probably wait til spring so I can cook outside the firehouse.
