Trump falsely claims US has done more coronavirus testing than all countries combined according to politifact and factcheck.org.  Actually, US has done fewer tests than Russia, Germany and Italy combined.  Worldometer indicates US trails 41 countries in testing on a per capita basis.  According to Harvard, millions of daily tests are needed in order to safely open US economy instead of risking lives.  So far, coronavirus deaths outnumber American deaths in Vietnam war.

Also Trump falsely claims contact tracing is adequate according to John Hopkins center for health security.  There are only thousands of contact tracers when hundreds of thousands are needed.  Many states have a budget crisis and a patchwork approach won't yield nationwide success.  States reopening prematurely are based on politics and not science.  Doctor Fauci warns of significant risk.

midnite-sundance - day 5- makin progress - talk to Sue Kerver at Charleston Medical Center- Here's the plan- the wife and I will be

                             travelling to Myrtle on Thur, May 14th. Sue has suggested we have "the meal" for the Myrtle Beach clinic versus

                             Charleston which has 1000 plus employees. She has a contact with Mission Barbecue in Myrtle and said that would

                             be very doable with them. So, midnite, we are going to set up the meal for Friday May 15th. Woohoo - how do we

                             want to cover this meal? I'm in for however you want to handle this. On the 17th, the bride and I are going to travel

                             to Charleston and pay for needed supplies for the clinic. She informed me that all supplies go thru Charleston and 

                            then are distributed to "their" individual clinics. I said cool. Sundance says he'll pitch in a hundy. You guys handle

                            that amongst yourselves. ANYONE ELSE WANNA DONATE, Coordinate with midnite. I'm stoked. Nothin from FedEx

                            yet. Not expecting them to give a shit.

I've always planned to pay for the meal. I'll call Sue Monday & get the contact name/ph# at the other facility to make the arrangements. I'll call Mission Barbecue Monday & talk to the owner once I know how many people we need to feed. I plan to use my cc.  Thanks for making that contact.

Snorkel... They love sweatpants & large sizes (2x,3x,4x even 5x if you see them). Walmart sells them for about $4.99 each.

Underwear...all sizes; boxers briefs. Toiletries are big....small size mouth wash, deodorant, toothpaste..

midnite - one thing to check on that Sue wasn't sure of is if Mission Barbecue delivers. If they don't, I'll have a mini-van

             that I can use to take care of.

I'll make sure the owner delivers even if they have to deliver it personally.

They wouldn't want word getting out that they wouldn't help the local vets.

I can't get a haircut but I can go and buy a gun.

I spoke with Sue today & she will give me the count of medical personnel later today. I thought we would do it family style but Sue pointed out the meal had to be separated individually due to covid which makes total sense. Sue sounds like a fantastic lady! 

I spoke with Rebecca @ Mission Barbecue & these folks do amazing things for veterans. You can check out their website to see the various ways they help.

Rebecca works with veterans throughout the Myrtle Beach community & she will take care of business. Each person with receive 1/4 lb of beef brisket, 3 baby back ribs, mac n cheese & banana pudding which they will donate. Either baked beans or cornbread  will be determined later. They provide all utensils & napkins with 3 different barbecue sauces. They also provide free delivery.

It's all coming together!!!

Midnite- your the man-I'm impressed with your determination and generosity. The wife and I went to Walmart yesterday and got

             500 worth of clothing - plan on getting another 500 worth of cleaning supplies. Get me an approx. time on Mission barbecue

             and will stop by and give them a little sumin-sumin. What name are you under with them? This is gratifying, reaching out to

             the people on the frontline. Good job.

Midnite - got a text from sue - We have the same name - I go by Drew which absolutely drives my mother nuts. She gets livid.

              No one calls me andy or Andrew and it gets her goat. I luv it.

Sue sent me an email & there will be 75 medical heroes getting lunch.

I sent that number to Rebecca @ Mission via email & her boss returns to work Wednesday, so I won't finalize details until late Thursday or Friday. I have to check with Paula tomorrow at the Veterans Clinic re: lunch time. She'll tell me what's best for the her team. I'll let you guys know.

That's wild we have the same first name Snorkel. I'll share something even wilder....

My Mom's name was Mary, my father was a carpenter & I was born on Christmas Day. It wasn't until I was about 40 when my Mom told that when she was giving birth to me she could hear the choir in the hospital chapel singing "Glory To The New Born King!" I asked why it took so long to tell me that part & just like a Mom, she said "I didn't want you to think you were somebody special." 

Midnite - Great story - I got people pitching in after I simply told them the story - Didn't even ask for donation- Now I will

             hit up my buddies. I'll have extra cash we can use for the meal. Plan on stopping by Mission Barbecue and tippin

             them a hundy. I'll donate all extra money towards the meal. Can work it any way you want. Pot($700) Woohoo. 

That's great news Snorkel...

I thought of something. The vets love snacks but nothing with nuts in it; they can't accept it for potential health reasons. In Michigan I got them 24 packs of chips, pretzels, cookies etc that are individual packages. Those Lance cheese crackers are popular as well as chocolate bars like 3 Musketeers, Nestle Crunch, Milky Way, Kit Kats & M&M's. I much rather you put the extra bucks towards the vets. I got the meal covered brother.

They also need compression socks for those with diabetes. 

Doesn't it feel great? We're doing this for people we don't even know but I think that's the beauty of it. We're just paying our good fortune forward & letting these hero's know they are not forgotten. 

One last thing on my name...Since I was going to be born around Christmas, my parents were bouncing around names prior to my birth. If a girl I was to be named Carol (for like Christmas carol) & if a boy my Mom wanted Noel but my Dad quickly nixed that because he figured with a name like that I'd get my ass kicked everyday growing up in the Bronx. I've always loved my Dad for that decision!

Trump is desperately trying to deflect blame for his own failures.  He promotes weak conspiracy theory that coronavirus originates from a lab in China.  But worldwide scientific concensus contradicts that claim.  No evidence according to 5 eyes alliance which includes US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom.  Coronavirus has no structural clue to suggest genetic engineering according to team of scientists from University of Sydney and University of Edinsburgh.  Far more likely coronavirus is a product of natural evolution.  According to wikipedia, 61% of over 1600 known pathogens are transmissions from animals to humans.  For examples, swine flu, influenza, HIV and bird flu.  According to Scripps institute, the probability of virus escaping from lab is one in a million.  Furthermore, US intelligence concludes no evidence virus is manmade or from a lab accident.  Even doctor Fauci dismiss conspiracy theory.

Georgia police have arrested the father and son who shot 25 yr old Ahmund Arbery who was jogging in a neighborhood. The shooters say they were attempting to make a citizens arrest which is total bullshit because that type of arrest can only be made during the execution of a crime. The guy was just jogging.

The father is a former investigator for the Prosecutor's office and should know and understand the law. They should never have approached Arbery with guns drawn but rather they should have called police if they truly believed he was a suspect in neighborhood robberies as they claim.

Sad freaking incident.
