It's gonna continue for years. Trump made the divisions in this country the absolute worst they have ever been up to and including today.

See this is the difference between us real Americans who think that if he committed crimes he should suffer the consequences, and that we think nobody is above the law. You guys never even once try and say he's innocent of the charges, read back through them, not once do any of you even imply he's innocent. All you guys try to do is say he shouldn't of been charged, well explain to me if he did the crime, why shouldn't he be charged,is he for some reason above the law in your guys eyes?
Hard to explain right? I agree.

Bill Maher agrees with this setting a dangerous precedent and over the weekend commented on now that pandora's box has been opened, watch out for BOTH sides of the uniparty going after their political opponents with their partisan appointed Judges & DA's. This is what banana republics do. Not The United States of America....well, not anymore....
Bill is not a dummy.

To them, yes, the twice-impeached Insurrection-inciter - who has now been criminally indicted - is above the law.
But nobody else.

Way to cherrypick Bill's argument. I watch Bill's show every Friday. On the same show, Bill also said that the stronger case Trump should be indicted and convicted of is trying to to rig the election in Georgia by trying to convince a Georgia official to find "11,000" votes in his favor. He frequently argues that this attempt alone should disqualify him from any public office. I agree Bill is no dummy but don't try and cherrypick his whole stance to fit your pro-conservative Republican narrative. Yet you claim you are "neutral". No you are not.

What up Deezy my neezy.... I said the following in our discussion within the other thread; https://www.covers.com/forum/politics-87/criminal-indictments-anticipated-for-boss-of-trump-crime-family-103727025/5#post-131037623
I agreed with you on this exact topic so no, I didn't "cherry pick anything". I apologize my attention span for Trump isn't quite on the same level of all the rest of you Orange Fanboys but you helped persuade me to educate myself a bit on the matter, thank you.... My comment....
"Deezy made a comment that I had to look into in this thread, https://www.covers.com/forum/politics-87/perp-walk-103729341/2#post-131026023, about the potential Georgia charge being much more impactful. I don't disagree and legal pundits don't necessarily either in that assessment.... this NYC trumped up charge is nothing compared to the potential Georgia indictment."

I know my boy Deezy will get back to me with "all good now bro, you were right, sorry I jumped the gun on you"
But that aside.... I've never once claimed any "neutral" stance. Neutral is a joke, what the hell am I doing in here wasting my time entertaining myself if I was just "neutral"....My stance on the current regime is pretty well god damn documented.... As is my distasteful view of our political system in general, and your guys' favorite fanboy El Naranja....you guys eat, read, type & poo the Orange Man. That's cool, your prerogative and all....
I am well aware that reading comprehension is well towards the very bottom of your guys' Madden ratings of real life BUT, the intolerance shown is a shining example of what is wrong with you and the rest of your brethren. Here is the reality of your faulted mindset....
If I was a pedo loving Biden worshipper I'd be your best buddy.....and If I was a Trump worshipping cultist I'd be your perfect enemy. You clowns only want one or the other so that I can be "the enemy" or "the buddy". But because I am neither you get mad on an internet forumand result to name calling. Sandbox kids stuff.
This Simple Jack way of thinking is the problem with your radical leftist propaganda army within this Country. It is one of the finest displays of INTOLERANCE in all of the examples of division and intolerance......All it does is create DIVISION without any link to achieving a goal or progress. Very sad.

You were not right in the least. You cherrypicked Bill's argument to push your narrative. Not surprising though.
It was something like oohh look Bill agrees with me that Trump should NOT be indicted and prosecuted for paying hush money. Yet, failing to acknowledge the rest of his argument. You are not slick. Secondly, you hardly believe Trump should be indicted for anything. Just the other day you were in here saying rich people and celebrities get away with crimes all of the time, so should Trump kind of nonsense. Be real about it.
At least you finally admitted you are not neutral and unbiased. The fake our political system is the problem schtick is kind of tired because everyone knows you are disingenuous.
let it all out. Call Joe Biden a pedo some more and defend Trump. I'm just glad you finally admitted your are full of $hit with your neutral act. Just don't try and backtrack now and claim you don't like Trump either because we all know you love the guy.

Like I said....reading comprehension is difficult for some of you.... But if you don't even read what I said to begin with then I understand how it may be difficult to comprehend.... You also did an excellent job with my 2nd point by displaying name calling and making up stuff to fit your narrative. Remember, just because you type it, doesn't make it true...

@kcblitzkrieg You said in your post #22,make no mistake, this isn't about law and order BS some of you are spouting.Sure it's about law and order, there's evidence he broke the law,and even you said if someone breaks the law then punishment of said crime is in order. And it's only about politics because trump is running again, the talk about charging him for these crimes was talked about long before he announced he was gonna run again. If he wasn't running again these charges would have nothing to do with a politician. The indictment is not about political power pure and simple, and has everything to do with law and order. When anybody breaks the law they should be held responsible, doesn't matter if the person who broke the law says he's gonna run for president.Should you or I or even anybody else be able to rob someone, hit and run their car into someone,or commit any other type of crime, and then just say I'm gonna run for president so then you shouldn't charge me for the crimes I committed. Then you say I've never once said he shouldn't be indicted, but then you say,if he is indicted it's all because of politics and political power,no it's because there's evidence a crime was committed, that's why he's indicted.
Like I warned...
House Oversight Committee has subpoenas out for Biden family banking records.
Bank of America, Cathay Bank, JPMorgan Chase, HSBC USA N.A., and Mervyn Yan, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, have all received subpoenas.
“Given his antics with the first bank subpoena, the American people and media should be asking what information Ranking Member Raskin is trying to hide this time. No one should be fooled by Ranking Member Raskin’s games. We have the bank records, and the facts are not good for the Biden family.”
The subpoenas to the banks will hopefully provide clarity to investigators with information about the financial activities associated with the Biden family. A subpoena could reveal more evidence of suspicious transactions, financial irregularities, or other potentially incriminating information that could be used in this ongoing investigation.>
Thank you America

Maher is fair minded in many respects, though obviously left of center. He routinely criticizes Democrats in his state and federally. But of course he criticizes the ignorant trumpian-republicans much more simply because there is MUCH MORE to actually criticize.

@kcblitzkrieg Doesn't matter, the crimes the criminal in office before him got away with, confirmed the precedent that a sitting president can't be indicted.
Yes, you are correct. But what about after he leaves office. This also applies to politicians in other positions that are not as protected as POTUS.
My biggest point with all of this was that pandora's box has now been opened and anyone on either side of the political aisle is now an open target for real/justified or imagined prosecution. As I said from day 1, it is a slippery slope, be careful what you wish for......
Thank you America

Thinking along the same lines, then hasn't every citizen of this country during their whole life been an open target for real/justified or imagined prosecution.Anybody can say someone committed a crime, then it's investigated and if there is evidence of a crime, charges are filed. If there is no evidence of a crime, that person isn't charged. That's the way it's been for everyday citizens,so it's not a "pandora's box",it's just the way our laws work. Why is it opening a pandora's box if we hold a politician to the same rules as every other citizen of this country. If a politician is guilty of a crime, should he not be held responsible for his crime, just because he's a politician?

Politicians are almost all crooked as shit, and that includes politicians on both sides. Open up that box for all I care. Hold people accountable. This Trump bs is somewhat of a farce in my opinion. It's root is still an extramarital affair with a porn star, in Vegas, before he was president. I mean, isn't what happens in Vegas suppose to stay in Vegas. So I think this trial is kind of a joke but make no mistake about it, Trump has done far worse in his lifetime. You don't make it to such a position of power and /or wealth without some unscrupulous dealings.
TIME TO BRING BACK THE OBAMA CAGES!

Yep! Nobody is above the law............except trump........apparently........until recently.......but we shall see if he escapes justice once again....... Everyone, including sitting presidents, who violate our laws - civil or criminal, should receive LEGAL negative consequences. Period. This could include Joe Biden, if proven guilty. So be it.
I give no quarter to criminals. And especially NOT to traitors to our country.

Anybody can say someone committed a crime, then it's investigated and if there is evidence of a crime, charges are filed.
I hear you, yes that is a good way to put it in explaining your point It still goes back to the partisan weaponization of justice system for me. If the NYC DA wasn't a leftist political pawn do you think Trump would have been indicted? No, of course not. Does that mean he "shouldn't" have been indicted? No, it doesn't mean that either. Trump is running for POTUS though so he is the political opponent of the regime that brought on the indictment. If Trump wasn't running for President then the regime would have no reason to target him and we very likely would not even be having this conversation.
But if we are going to start using partisan DA and DOJ appointees to go after political opponents then we must be ready to accept the repercussions from those moves on both sides of the aisle. I mean, it's a done deal already so I guess we are all along for the ride here on out. Good talk
Thank you America

Maher is fair minded in many respects, though obviously left of center. He routinely criticizes Democrats in his state and federally. But of course he criticizes the ignorant trumpian-republicans much more simply because there is MUCH MORE to actually criticize.
cant disagree he calls em as he sees em

I need to DM you to pick your brain about your neck of the woods. Gonna be spending a little time hiking/backpacking in that region this summer. Want some suggestions. The Enchantments are number one on the list. Couple of other regions I have penciled in. Would love some feedback.

Okay, what about the case in Georgia, where it was a republican SOS who recorded the phone call that may end up leading to charges. So then it isn't the party of the political opponent, their both from the same party.Or how about this, don't have the candidate running for political office, commit crimes. And he wouldn't have to worry about which party the DA is from.Funny I don't remember the republicans crying about going after a political foe when they were investigating Hillary time, after time, after time.Just looking for some dirt on her, then it's fair game. Now that it's trump, their looking to change all the rules, and want nothing to do with law and order.I guess that's what happens when your party is lead by a conman and criminal.

I agree Stu there aren't many if any honest politicians. But there are some that are 10 times as bad as others. This case from trump isn't all that serious (certainly not his worst crime),but it isn't a farce,if he committed the crime, let him suffer the consequences. You said it yourself "hold people accountable".If it was you or me who did it,it would still be a crime, because he's an ex president doesn't mean it isn't a crime and that he shouldn't be charged,or that it's a farce. It's root is in a extramarital affair, but that's not the crime. The crime is taking the money from where he took it from, and how he did it,and how he reported it.That's what the cheap ass dummy is having problems with, not that he did a porn star,or that he had an affair to begin with.I believe all he had to do is take the money from his own money, and he wouldn't have any legal problem whatsoever with what happened between him and Stormy. But of course the cheapskate crook couldn't do that. And it certainly doesn't have anything to do with the city where the act occurred, and what that city's tourism slogan says (I'm pretty sure you were kidding about that).
