point is the local, state and fed govts have spending problems and they refuse to tackle them and therefore you, me and every working stiff will be paying more and more regardless of how much we make per year.
I actually think you deserve your house on the golf course-you worked hard your whole life and lived within your means and I applaud you.

From what I understand from the 30 for 30 episode "Broke", football players get their game check taxed upon what state that particular game occurs in.
If not that why hasn't he moved already? Why hasn't he hired Romney's tax guys either?

True,
NBA players are taxed STATE income tax from all applicable states that they play in as well as the state they pay thier HOME games in.
State tax should not be confused with FEDERAL tax.

Tiger moved out of Cali in 96 to avoid the state tax.
Woods was at Torrey Pines preparing for this weekend's PGA tournament near La Jolla, California when reporters asked if he would respond to Phil Mickelson's comments on Sunday that California's high tax rate would force Mickelson to either move out of the state or make "drastic changes" to his career. Woods said:
"I moved out of here back in '96 for that reason. I enjoy Florida but it was also...I understand what he was I think trying to say. I think he'll probably explain it better in a little bit more detail."

Like I asked earlier, is Phil taxed differently for each state he earns prize money in?

Professional athletes must file taxes in each state (that has a state income tax) they perform in.
They must also file federal taxes for each country they perform in.
If they make money off of investments then they pay a smaller percentage because that money has already been taxed by the federal government or applicable states.
