Joe Biden's latest student debt move
will bring 3.6 million borrowers closer
to loan forgiveness! 

Washington (CNN)

These new actions, announced Tuesday, are the latest moves by the Biden administration to make it easier for federal student loan borrowers to receive forgiveness that they may already be entitled to under existing programs.
By the end of March, more than 700,000 of the 43 million federal student loan borrowers had seen their outstanding debt discharged under President Joe Biden, totaling more than $17 billion in relief.

Biden recently extended a pandemic-related payment pause for federal student loans until August 31.

Tuesday's actions will bring more than 3.6 million borrowers at least three years closer to receiving forgiveness through what's known as the income-driven repayment program

US center for disease control says an appeal is necessary to protect public health and their legal authority in the long term if fluctuating pandemic worsens again.  In Philadelphia, increase in hospitalizations lead to return of mask mandate.  Experts and not judges should be determining public health policy.  Her misinterpretation of law is so poorly reasoned that it is hard not to suspect ruling has been made in bad faith.  Harris and AP-NOR polls found most people support extension of mask mandate.  Canada and many countries are maintaining mask mandates.

The worry is allowing a bad precedent to be set making it difficult for the next time a narcissiticneo-fascist downplays a deadly pandemic and allows the virus to spread all over the country without meaningful response.   They have to avoid that bad legal precedent by the trump appointee...

The latter point being even bigger than the questionable ruling itself.

That's a good point.  But I wonder how much "precedent" is going to matter over the next 30+ years at least, since the Supreme Court appears certain to overturn Roe v. Wade  despite it being settled law and the precedent of the land.
