Despite fierce, sometimes racist opposition, from senate conservatives,
Senate votes to confirm the first black woman to the US Supreme Court! Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will become Justice Jackson. Bi-partisan, 53 - 47
Indeed! It's good to see Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, the same two GOP Senators who also voted against the repeal of Affordable Care Act back in 2017, and Sen. Mitt Romney crossed the isle to vote for Justice Jackson.
and ftr none of those 3 republicans r propedophile as greene insisted

Kind of cool that the 1st black woman to serve as VP gets to announce the first black woman confirmed to the Supreme Court. Thanks to my fellow 81 million plus & of course, the state of Georgia.
This is historic. And a positive move forward for our country despite what 47 republican senators think

Biden signs bill approved by congress to strengthen US postal service finances and modernize its services in the future. Bill recognizes USPS as an important public service and ensures it can continue to serve Americans for generations.

Gallup poll found 25 of 27 NATO nations gave US (under Biden) an average 52% increase in approval rating compared to Trump who often criticizes NATO and praises Putin. Apparently, Biden has succeeded in restoring US role as a global leader.

Joe Biden's latest student debt move will bring 3.6 million borrowers closer to loan forgiveness!
Washington (CNN)
These new actions, announced Tuesday, are the latest moves by the Biden administration to make it easier for federal student loan borrowers to receive forgiveness that they may already be entitled to under existing programs. By the end of March, more than 700,000 of the 43 million federal student loan borrowers had seen their outstanding debt discharged under President Joe Biden, totaling more than $17 billion in relief.
Biden recently extended a pandemic-related payment pause for federal student loans until August 31.
Tuesday's actions will bring more than 3.6 million borrowers at least three years closer to receiving forgiveness through what's known as the income-driven repayment program

DOJ appeals federal ruling on transportation mask mandate!
US center for disease control says an appeal is necessary to protect public health and their legal authority in the long term if fluctuating pandemic worsens again. In Philadelphia, increase in hospitalizations lead to return of mask mandate. Experts and not judges should be determining public health policy. Her misinterpretation of law is so poorly reasoned that it is hard not to suspect ruling has been made in bad faith. Harris and AP-NOR polls found most people support extension of mask mandate. Canada and many countries are maintaining mask mandates.

Excellent points, as usual!
The worry is allowing a bad precedent to be set making it difficult for the next time a narcissiticneo-fascist downplays a deadly pandemic and allows the virus to spread all over the country without meaningful response. They have to avoid that bad legal precedent by the trump appointee...

The latter point being even bigger than the questionable ruling itself.

That's a good point. But I wonder how much "precedent" is going to matter over the next 30+ years at least, since the Supreme Court appears certain to overturn Roe v. Wade despite it being settled law and the precedent of the land.
