Walgreens Closes 17 San Francisco Stores Due To "Out Of Control" Shoplifting
Like many other retailers, Walgreens is blaming Proposition 47, which lowered penalties for thefts under $950 and sparked dramatic increases in shoplifting across the metro area over the last several years. Prop. 47 is supported by criminal justice reformers and the liberal establishment, who have also managed to defund the local police.
Thefts at Walgreens' in the city are four times the average for other stores across the country. The pharmacy chain spends 35 times more on security guards in the city than elsewhere, said Jason Cunningham, regional vice president for pharmacy and retail operations in California and Hawaii.
The effects of liberal logic.

I wonder how much they spent on labor to clean up the shit on the sidewalks in front of the stores
The shit's not everywhere. Mostly the Tenderloin, Civic Center, SoMa between like 6th and 11th. Maybe a little by Embarcadero. This is also where the needles are as well. The way they ignore these small thefts is insane though. It's not just shoplifting. Someone can break into your car, steal your shit. You find the suspect with your shit, alert the cops, they won't do shit. This happened to someone I know.

Biden literally fought the desegregation of schools in America.
The reason why this is looked over is because Democrats are told what to be outraged about and they listen. They lack the ability of critical thinking.

When desegregation came up in the Senate,Joe Biden was front/center opposing the matter because he didn't want His children forced in to an "Urban Jungle"

More sensationalized BS just like everything in this swamp creature forum.
WG announced in 2019 it planned to close 200 stores to "trim its US footprint." And they closed a greater percentage of stores in New York City (28% compared to 24% in SF) where no such "shoplifting epidemic" is said to exist. And then also, why hasn't CVS shut down any SF stores in 2020 or 21 because of this "lawlessness epidemic?
WG settled a 4.5 million wage theft suit last November for robbing its CA employees for years. Corporate wage theft is much more prevalent than all other forms of theft - larceny, robbery, car theft - combined.
That should put your staged for MSM propaganda videos into the context to which they belong. But with that being said, the mayor of SF is a bootlicking tool of authoritarian conditioning carrying out her marching orders from the highest levels of corruption and a major reason SF is on such a slippery slope.
Relax. I'm unvaxxed!

I'm not sure if there are any CVS stores in SF. I'm trying to think of one off the top of my head. There has always been a ton of Walgreen's though. CVS is big in the rest of the Bay because they bought out Long's but there aren't a ton in SF. They do operate the pharmacies in Targets though.

The wage theft case was because their workers kept stealing so they had to put a security check in place and they didn’t pay their employees for the 10 minutes it took to be checked by security.
And then some stoners jumped in the lawsuit saying they weren’t paid for a few breaks.
I wouldn’t consider that “robbing”.
If far left cities and states were a stock they would be a major sell at the moment.

"Viral videos from SF inspire Gov. Newsom to double down on fighting retail theft."
Latest headline is that the tyrant Gov. has vowed to beef up regional and state wide efforts to combat organized retail theft. "SF police chief Bill Scott, who joined Newsom at a news conference Wednesday, acknowledged that the problem is challenging because of the message viral videos send to both criminals and the public. People fear crime when they see it go viral."
Well no shit-sherlock. So even though the police chief admits that statistics show crime rates in SF are not up from pre-pandemic levels, he's admitting to a perception problem. And even though WG, CVS and Target have complained in recent months about organized crime rings in SF, they have so far provided little independently verifiable information about the thefts being organized or exactly how many are occurring outside of this viral video agenda we are being feed.
Now we see how the dots are being connected. Viral videos being pimped over the course of the last two months to fear monger and propagandize the general public to create a perception not based on the reality of actual crime statistics. Now enter a tyrant Gov. Newsom facing a recall election who wants the tax payer to fork over more money for police agencies to bolster an already draconian police state. Shocker!
This is just one of the many dirty tricks that use a 100% corrupted MSM to further push a deceptive agenda that needed a fabricated "excuse" in order to fool the gullible public once again. And we have Detox doing the viral pimping for the "liberals" in CA.

The DA doesn’t prosecute, so SF police stopped responding to shoplifting complaints, and people stopped making them.
Walgreens told members of the Board of Supervisors that theft in their San Francisco stores is four times the average of their stores across the country. They also spend 35x more on security guards in San Francisco.
