I was wrong about Obama. All of you were 100% right. I’m being serious here. Not sarcastic...
I just finished reading 7 books in as little of 2 months time.
The books were about the Founding Fathers, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, WW1, WW2, Obama, Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, and Howard Zinn.
Obama and the democrats pulled the biggest con in history. I feel foolish for falling for their tactics. I feel like I’ve been in a hypnotic slumber - and *snap* - I feel wide awake now.
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." - Abraham Lincoln
Obama is the Jim Jones of presidents.
Rand Paul has to win. He might be another puppet... I don't know? What I do know is Hillary is definitely NOT the answer.

You've been gone a while. It looks like you've done a lot of reading.
Right after the mid-terms I said it might not be so bad if we have a Democrat for President in 2016. Here is why.
Whenever one party controls both houses of Congress and the White House it doesn't take long for the country to turn on that party when things go wrong.
If there is a balance one side can keep the other side from going too extreme.
As you can see the Republicans p*ssed off a lot of people from 2000-2006 and because of that we had Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, Harry Reid as Majority Leader and Barrack Obama as President.
It didn't take long before Republicans got Congress back.
I think Rand would be a god fit for our culture in 2016: libertarian on social issues and conservative on fiscal issues. The only question would be national defense/foreign policy. We don't want a warhawk like John McCain but we also don't want someone like Obama calling ISIS "JV" and terrorist attacks "workplace violence". I think Rand would fall somewhere in the middle but keep in mind if things go bad for whoever is President and they are a Republican in 4 to 8 years there will be another Barack Obama elected.

But I gotta give Barry and his posse some credit, it was a masterful play for power...historic...the perfect mix of oppurtunity and reading the political trade winds accurately...and of course knowing exactly what his sheep want to hear...All of which could never have happened if it wasn't for his predecessor

What exactly were you wrong about? Never known you to really be an Obama 'supporter'?
Not sure they 'conned' anyone. Everyone knew who he was when he ran. He was fairly clear on his agenda, et. al.
Paul got a tough road ahead---but would be a breath of fresh air.
I was an Obama supporter - in a sort of - kind of way… I supported him by default. I thought I was backing the lesser of the two evils. It turns out that I had it backwards. I was reluctantly defending the eviller of the two evils.
No… from my point of view - none of the voters knew what they were voting for. People still have no clue what they voted for. You give the public too much respect.
People thought Obama was Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington and Martin Luther King, Jr.
What Obama turned out to be is a mix of Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrahkan and Mao Zedong.

Yes, sir. I stopped chiming in the politics forum about 2 months ago. I got tired of posting. I needed a break. I like to binge read. I suck at writing but I excel at reading.
I agree… balance is the key. People need to realize that America is one giant experiment. It was an idea with no guideline to follow because there had never been anything like it. The founders believed keep it small and simple and the people will be the guide.
The government tricked the people into believing that the government could solve all the problems that arise for them. Vote for us and we will take care of you and take care of it. The founders hated fascist British rule. People died to free themselves from fascist control.
Today, people like Detox, Wallstreet, and Don embrace what the founders detested. I finally see what conservatives mean when they say “I want my country back.”
I don’t know if Rand is the answer. All I know is that Hillary hates the history of the United States. I consider Rand a rebel - someone who won’t bow down to the powers that be.
I like the Rand adheres to the old values of the founders - not entirely - but enough to resemble some of what the founders truly intended America to be. He comes across as distinguished, dignified and articulate historian. He speaks in an eloquent dialect similar to some of the founders.

I want a president who is well-versed in American history and has an immense respect for the founding fathers. I think the internet is changing the way people view politics. The government’s worst fear is an educated and aware population.
Obama sparked a pro government revolution. They say history repeats itself. That means an anti-government revolution is the next phase… hopefully Samuel Adams will be reincarnated
Speaking of Samuel Adams… anyone one of you watched Sons of Liberty on History? I loved it.

i don't know, money. sounds like these books you've read have made you the true believer. what you'll get in 2016, just like what you've been getting, is a prostitute who will have sold him/herself to the corporations and special interests that can afford the billion dollars or so that it will cost to pay for the presidential election. nobody spends a billion dolalrs without being sure they are buying something and getting a return on that investment. history, your rights (whatever that means), etc. mean next to nothing. the money rules.
put down those silly books and read one thing: The Golden Rule- Whoever has the gold makes the rules.
there, i saved you a lot of time.
in that respect, i agree with wallstreet almost 100%.
that being said, rand paul is currently number one in the preseason ClubDirtSpoirts.com presidential endorsement rankings

Here's a much smaller read... Below are links from the editorial page from Thursday's USA Today. The first link is "Our View (USA Todays) the second is Scott Walker's rebuttal. After reading these 2 tiny links you'll learn quickly how the left thinks and operates across the board. The USA Today's article IMO brings absolutely nothing to the table, Walker is the new Sarah Palin (the left must condemn him because he's a threat).
Michael Savage has a line he often repeats. "The truth has a certain ring to it". If you haven't figured out that Barry Hussein is the biggest liar in the history of the presidency, your pretty much a fool.

You may well be correct. Plus a lot were still voting 'against' Bush no matter who was running because they were still mad at him after two terms.

Powerful US politicians are there to further the agenda of banks and corporations. I get a kick out of people that think Obama is the problem.
The powers that be use politicians and the US military as if they're playing a game of chess.
Let's say Obama is a bad president.. Compared to who? Bush? Clinton? Bush? Reagan? Carter? Ford? Nixon? Johnson?
Try to take on the powers that be and do what you honestly feel is right for the average person in the US and around the world and you'll get your head blown off at a parade in Texas.

Sure, but there are people out there that would blame just about everything on Republicans, too.

What exactly does this mean? To what timeframe do they want to take it back to? I've heard this said for a while, still haven't gotten an answer to the follow up question.

I think the bigger issue here is the ever increasing (and stifling) role of the Executive branch. If the checks and balances that were supposed to be in place, half of the terrible crap that Presidents (not just obama) do would not stand.
