The concept behind healthcare is to actually provide healthcare. Thats what many think. However, healthcare is set up to take care of the weakest in our society (and of course the random terrible accidents healthy people get into). Our nation cant take care of all the sick people ....there are too many and too many whiners and leeches.

A "total cop-out" is when you try and change the subject from what is the current law, ObamaCare, to a silly "where is the Republican plan!?" mantra. A republican plan has zero chance of ever being put into law while the current President is in office so bringing it up is a weak attempt at distracting from the utter disaster that is the current law of the land, ObamaCare.

• Controlling certain conditions, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes
• Staying physically active
• Eating healthy foods
• Maintaining a healthy weight
• Reducing and managing stress

As we see, 4 of the 5 suggestions have nothing to do with seeing a a doctor so I eagerly await any studies or data estimating the % of people in America who have heart attacks due to lack of preventive care.

And even if 90% of heart attacks happened to people who never saw a doctor, the example doesn't carry over to health spending at the aggregate because there is no disputing that "preventive care" does not at all reduce health care costs.

Preventative care won't decrease heart attacks, strokes, won't diagnose cancer before it reaches terminal stages, won't identify risks for other ailments based on blood pressure, heart rate, bllod work, heredity, etc.

Can you at least acknowledge that early identification and treatment of cardiovascular risk factors decreases the incidence of cardiovascular events and decreases the progression of cardiovascular disease?
