not sure i like it at 10/1 unless you're just looking to throw a few dollars on it for fun. i can't play at that book anyway.
I agree Club. When I floated this idea I was thinking around 40-1......but that was a month ago. At 10-1 this event lacks the value that I had anticipated.
The race should tighten a bit and if these odds get to 20-1 before the debates then I may throw something at it for fun.

I think it's worth a play if you get long-enough odds, but Trump is likely to stick it out until the end. However, my co-worker who is entirely apolitical made a point on Trump and I completely agree with it. Everyone she knows for the most part is voting for him so she does have a decent perspective.
She believes he never really expected to actually win the primary and once he saw the opportunity to promote business interests for the future, he decided to roll with it and see what could happen. He's not spending money as if he can really win the general election. Look at the funding and offices opened in competitive/battleground states. This does not take a genius to understand. He's not putting forth the effort that's required to technically win the election.
Also, I hope people learned like I did from this election cycle that a fairly solid chunk of voters already determine which candidate to support months in advance. This is critical to understand because it's very likely that over half of voters in the U.S have already made up their minds. Then when you look at the polls for the general election for individual states and the national ones as well, it's obvious that Trump is too far behind mathematically to win. I suspect this is already over unless he becomes a brilliant debater and Hillary actually ends up in jail, neither of which will happen.

I agree with the view point that trump did not think he was going to win the nomination and I think he did not run a campaign to win it all and instead ran a campaign to completely obliterate the GOP field and GOP end conservatism
5/4/16 the day conservatism died
I actually think while trump is not a brilliant debater he is able to use his quick wit to fire shots and insults at opponents and that is how he completely destroyed the other GOP candidates and then now are making them look like either spineless sell outs with no sense of values or integrity or make them look butthurt and iratjonal because he completely owned them... Either way the GOP look extremely pathetic coming out of this in a really a no win situation.
But mind you the GOP base itself communicated to the world that the neo-cons, teabaggers, birthers, racists and theocrats have completely failed them and they are done with this dysfunctional, crazy and ineffective 21 century version of the GOP and conservatism...

I'll start by saying that I am NOT a Trump supporter. I do not agree with several moronic things that come out of his mouth. You're never going to build a wall between the US and Mexico. You're not going to ban an entire group of people from entering the US based on religion. And you sure as heck aren't going to round up 15 million people and throw them over the border. That being said...
Why are you generalizing republicans as racists and "neo-cons"? I'm republican. Is there something wrong with being fiscally conservative and believing taking from determined hard working people and giving to lazy well fair collecting individuals is wrong? Is there something wrong with being smart enough to realize that raising minimum wage to $15/hr will do absolutely nothing because money is all relative. Once minimum wage goes up, companies will cut their labor and raise their prices in order to make up for their increased labor costs. Is it wrong to think abortion is wrong and that the innocent baby has no say in its own life. Is it wrong to get annoyed by the liberal media that constantly promotes black lives matter protests all over the country and story after story of innocent young black men getting killed by police but not one story of a young white man being shot by police even though it's proven they happen at nearly the same rate?
I don't support Trump but I cannot vote for Hillary Clinton. So you're right in all the stuff you say about trump but you don't have much of a leg to stand on with your current Democrat candidate. To be honest Trump is the only person she would be able to beat. The two most unlikeable candidates in history is what it comes down to in November and thats sad.

Abortion is the leading cause of death year after year. The babies last moment of life is spent squirming at the bottom of a stainless steel sink staring up at the light , suffocating. Liberal court is coming. Goodbye reason. Here comes darkness. Big liberal zoo with militarized police and a compliant media.

I have been anti-Hillary before she even announced her candidacy and the all the smear campaign... Like you said, many have already made their minds well in advanced...
I didn't generalize GOP's as neo cons and racists... In fact I specifically listed a few of the main components of the 21st century GOP rather than overgeneralizing and how the base itself is rejecting all
That and going with trump rather than pick a candidate with a solid history of those values...
What you see is this panic reset button hoping trump will change things even if they have no idea what exactly he is about and will do beyond his rhetoric... Reminds me of having to pass obamacare to see what it really is... No thanks...
And for the record I supported Cruz because I thought he would have the best chance to beat Hillary... I would have backed Rubio big time but I thought he had less of a chance and kasich even less of a chance even tho I thought he would make a decent president and be able to beat Hilary...
But as a non-partisan independent I back who ever I choose not back who my party prescribes me to back like a mindless lemming... sounds like you are similar... We need more posters rather than the "usual" lemming clones we see all the time

This event is back in play after Trump's uninspired debated performance last night. He should have prepared instead of trying to wing it. BOL Boys.
After the leaked Washington Post video on Trump's 2005 vulgar sexual comments, it seems more likely GOP is getting seriously by calling for Trump's "emergency replacement".

I know right... the topic is the prop beyond trump suspending his campaign or given the hook by the GOP.
I don't get why on a serious political gambling thread analyszinf this bet based on recent events why some people do nothing more than try to detract from the civil dialog with these games and antics.
I think this has legs now. Seems like trump is a loser here and Trump may not want to be a loser so I could see him jump ship. It might make sense to put some money on this vs putting more on Hillary as the price is skyrocketing

Check this out.........the last time we discussed this event we were looking at 10-1 for Trump to suspend. This book has it at 11-2 now. I don't like the odds or the bet anymore. I think he limps across the finish line..........but 11-2??? Those are crazy numbers. But to be fair, it should be noted that they have posted HRC at 12-1 to quit so their insanity is consistent. Pence 20-1 to leave Trump. Interesting numbers.
