How can you stand up for them any longer?   Even those who blindly follow, come on.   Cuts to Medicare and Social Secuirty--up to 21% by 2021, but NO cuts, or repeals to ANY tax breaks to the super wealthy or the Oil Industry, as proposed by our caring and GREAT republicans.  Great SHARED sacrifice budget.  Many corporations do not even pay taxes--ie--GE, but the middle class, the most vulnerable, pay the most taxes, and our govt, and the super rich--nobody here by the way--are phasing us out, to achieve cheap labor so they get even richer.  Thanks Rebups!!!  Wow.  If we don't do something soon, we will have another depression.

Your right bandit.  I hope one day you get to live in a world free of republicans or for that matter anything other than liberal democrats.  Everything will be right in the world.  Just remember though in that perfect world, gone too will be the tax base of all those truly evil republicans.  But I'm sure you and the rest would gladly give that up. While your at it, don't forget to get rid of capitalism.  Who needs the ambition it breeds anyway.

I will receive much more in social security than I put in if I can live long enough. That cut does not bother me. I for one do not expect the government to have to take care of me when I become a senior citizen.

The wealth of the republicans, if they were to truly disappear, wouldn't disappear with them. It would simply transfer somewhere else. It's not so much republican vs democrat. It's rich and powerful vs the other 90 whatever percent of us there are.

I would argue that we no longer have true Capitalism. The corruption of the political system has made the environment too toxic for Capitalism. Remember,  Capitalism is a good thing for everyone in the end game. This is no longer the case, hence the death or fracture of true Capitalism. When industries can regulate themselves to their singular benefit, at the expense of all other capacities of the economy, then it is clear that Capitalism is lost and no longer the proper terminology for the wretched economic system at hand.

What we need is a form of managed capitalism with transparency & competent oversight without it squelching honest enterprise. Whether that's possible or not anymore is arguable if not unlikely -

Typical response, you didn't even address the comments. The Repubs want YOU, because you ARE NOT an elite rich person.  And me, to pay.  They do NOT want the elite rich to pay anything.  Is that fair?  Really?  Smoke and mirrors don't work with me.  Address the comments.  WHY, are the Repubs holding up a solution to the debt crisis, by not allowing the Rich Elite to give their share?  That is all I am asking.  Sen Dayton, who is very wealthy, agrees that the rich could afford to pay their SHARE.

I agree.  I would also say we are not a democratic society any longer either.  The rich own the politicians.  The politicians vote the way they are PAID by the super rich.  What I don't get here, is, why, especially here on this board, anyone would support the repubs right now.  From what I hear, unless you are in the top 1% income wise, the Repubs don't represent you.  Don't get me wrong, I am NOT a socialist, I am disturbed when people get money for doing nothing.  Don't support that.  Pure capitalism, I agree with.  Our politicians, BOTH dem and rep, have stacked the deck against MOST of us.  Why does NOBODY get this??????

Do you honestly feel the GOP is worse than the Dems.  The same Dems that passed the largest budget in history and have not passed another two years running, essentially making the crisis budget a default one.  Why do you feel the Dems are your friend?  Do you work?

I am well aware of the big business give aways from the gop but also the dems as well as the keynsian military spending of the gop and the massive keynsian dems spending on everything else.  how is it that a nanny state for losers made by the dems helps us out any better that oil company give aways?

Typical response because of a typical comment.  I am by no means a true republican.  What bothers me about your comment is that like most left leaners all problems are due to those on the right or have an R beside their name.  Never any issue with the other side of the coin.  I personally think they're both cespools.  But at least I see that.  Democratic politicians are for the most part full of shit.  They themselves are wealthy elitists that have chosen their path because they know they can keep a following.  Whats the old saying...poor people have been voting democrat for 50 yrs and guess what, their still poor. And by the way, just what is their fair share?  What you say it is?  How about if you set the rate and 5 yrs from now, you need a little more? Is it again time for them to pay their fair share again?  I dont disagree that the wealthy can afford to pony up more and if spent responsibly, they should see it as their duty to do so.  I'm just sick as shit of hearing about how its the sole job of the successful to pick up the slack for the deadbeats and the uninspired who see fit to stay on the gov' teet.

Wow.  Once again, never addressing the issues.  Why are you supporting a party that will not budge on making the super elite rich pay their fair share?  But, they want to cut medicare and social security (btw, which I pay into since I have WORKED the last 30+ years, how about you?) by 20%.  Address this.  Stop trying to play the shell game and distract by attacking.  I just want you to answer my comments.  You must be in the top 1%, right?  LMAO.  NOT.

Potter, agreed BOTH parties are cespools.  Amazing how you STILL don't address the comments I made at the beginning.  How come?  I am talking about right NOW, that the REpubs are wanting you and me to pay for the debt crisis.  Not the super elite.  Lets let them keep on NOT paying taxes and their breaks.  Just please get off your high horse and address the facts, the comments.  GD, you would make a good politician, never directly answer a hard question.

Corporations thrive off a lack of transparency and deceiving the consumer, owning the government.

There is absolutely NO way we will have transparency because it would lead to a reduction in excess profits.

Step one would be to crush corporations by removing them from government influence, by stopping the loopholes and cheating via the tax code.

Translation, it will never happen.

how about doing the government influence removal for everyone as well as the loophole closing for everyone.  maybe those job giving corporations dont need to be crushed under the mighty red fist of the heroic proletariat.  maybe they just might do business ethically and make some money too.

Not one real economist can project anything other than default without massive entitlement reform with Medicare being the biggest one of all by far.  This is not a topic that can even be debated.  The following will link you to david walkers comeback america website go to page 12 and read on medicare.  he is non partisan


The super elite rich do have unfair loopholes and advantages.  I still am a conservative and will always be one.  RINOs are my enemy in addition to many others.

I looked it up.  I am in the top 1.7%..woohoo,  lucky me.  i can tell you it has been a very hard road and i darn well earned it.

bandit - we have been in a depression for 2+ years. without massive government spending we would be ticking -5% on GDP instead of +2% growth. just wait until the US dollar is fully destroyed or devalued by half. think times are rough now, just wait

i look forward to august 2nd or 3rd...balanced budget overnight
