They must have fully completed their sentence/parole and any attached probation periods and/or financial penalties. After fully completing their debt to society I don't see why not - even for total lowlifes like donald trump and his fascist accomplices.
Also in most cases they should never again be allowed to possess a firearm
NOR RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE!

are we talking class A felons or class E white collar felons on trumped up misdemeanor charges? that is now a legal term, trumped up charges.
violent or gun felon then NO
bookkeeping error that is a minor charge that is up charged by a former federal clown... then YES they should get to vote on 80-year-old puppets who don't run the country
the real question is why hasn't this thread been sent to the BOX, who is really pushing an agenda in this forum?
feel free to chain me up for this because this is YOUR DEFINITION OF HYPOCRISY!!

This is such a double sided question

A felony is a serious crime. Many states don't allow convicted felons to vote. So why should they be allowed to run for political office? It isn't ethical to allow them to escape punishment. Law makers who don't obey laws shouldn't be allowed to make laws. How could they be trusted to create laws to benefit the country? Only someone with the best intentions for the public should be eligible. Clearly, Trump is unfit because of his long history of breaking laws for personal gain.
