@joe pockets That's a fair answer. I think there is more to it than simply that. I think some white liberals have what I have at times termed 'white savior syndrome', an oft subconscious ideology shared by some white liberals, and I put extreme emphasis on some out of respect for some of the members of this forum, who I do not believe share this ideology, consciously or subconsciously. I think this syndrome predates emancipation. And is essentially expressed as such: "I intend to do right by black people but in spite of themselves. I will do for them as they cannot do for themselves. I will think for them as they cannot think for themselves." Now the doing is tricky, and a slippery slope. This is still a white majority country. So emancipation does not happen without the contributions of white people. The civil rights movement doesn't happen without the contributions of white people. The thinking is another thing altogether. And there exist the narrative, that black people contribute to ourselves, that if you don't act a certain way, talk a certain way, listen to a certain kind of music, then you aren't black. We're the only race of people where this exist. Even extremely traditional cultures, East Indians, East Asians, Nigerians, they may not approve of certain cultural choices, but those choices wouldn't amount to a person being barred from the race. A Japanese family isn't going to consider their son no longer Japanese is he listens to 2 Chainz. As it relates to politics, there exist this narrative that if you aren't lockstep with the Democratic party, you either are ignorant, literally incapable of thinking for yourself, or suffering from some sort of dysmorphia. You literally don't know what race you are. So when Joe Biden says something like, I'm paraphrasing, "If you don't vote for Biden, you ain't black!" it's saying, "You're incapable not even just making your own decisions politically. You're not afforded the right to say, "X candidate more aligns with my beliefs." You have to choose this person. There are plenty of poor, white Americans who vote down ballot against their own interests but the notion still stands, they are afforded that right to choice. No one admonishes them for making the choice they see fit. And when Biden says so much, and does it with that "I speak jive" thing he does, I just can't help blows my mind that it's considered ok. He does and says so much that could be considered racist but gets a pass but yet here someone will assert that Trump can't even be bothered to respect someone, simply because they are black, even though nothing in his past track record supports this.
Gee, when I think back, the white people around me who are using the n-word aren’t liberal. They’re those who back Team Red, whether or not they vote or not.
I don’t use and never have used the n word, always felt my black friends over the years wouldn’t be cool with that. I know that’s tough for some people to understand. I also wouldn’t call black people “The Blacks” like Trump does. Just sounds like a 75-year-old boomer who is out of touch.

I used the n-word plenty of times when I as young but haven't used it in decades.
I attribute the change to laying in a hole next to brothers in a foreign country that depended on me & I on them to save each others ass. When you put your life in the hands of others, you become family real fucking fast.

Does Trump do that? Does Biden not? Or more so, has he not in the past? All I'm saying is Biden was a US Senator serving Delaware. Now Delaware is probably more diverse than this state of Oregon I choose to live in but it's not like it's Louisiana. And the man has a track record, of legislation, of words, that one could correlate to being racist. His sole connection to the race is that of being Barack Obama's running mate and VP. He was chosen in that regard because he is more in the tradition of a southern or safe democrat. Yet we go from that to, "If you don't vote for me, you ain't black." It's like he took dense to see how inherently racist this statement is. I meant to what other race/group do politicians campaign in this way? It would sound ridiculous to say, "If you don't vote for Biden, you ain't Mexican!" I must think for you when you can't think for yourself. I'm gonna do right by you in spite of yourself. You're incapable of making your own decisions. I must do it for you. He could've at least used the word aren't.
TIME TO BRING BACK THE OBAMA CAGES!

Sometime ago, I have read one citation of posthumous African American Congressional Medal of Honor recipients from the Vietnam War.
Marine Corps Pfc. James Anderson Jr. covered an incoming enemy grenade with his own chest to save the Marine comrade lives. Pfc. On Feb. 28, 1967, Cam Lo, South Vietnam, James Anderson Jr. was killed by the explosion of the grenade, he was 20 years old*.

@Europa
And I second Midnight1's sentiment.
From your link:
"The honor made Anderson the first Black Marine to receive the nation's highest award for valor."
But in a related matter, every time I read a story about a fallen US Marine (in this case a bona fide MoH recipient) I am reminded of the incredulous/asinine & shameful remarks uttered from the seditious-criminal mouth of our [then] commander-in-chief referring to our fallen Marines as "losers" and "suckers"
Never again.

Pay respect to the fallen braves. While the dude who disrespects our fallen Marines is facing three cases of legal indictments and most likely there are more to come in weeks.
