republican governor refuses to grant clemency to BLACK man wrongly convicted by all white jury in 1979
kevin strickland maintained his innocence for 42 years
there was no evidence against him except the lone testimony of a white woman
the all white jury convicted him in missouri just on that sole testimony
two of the murderers stated multiple times that strickland had no involvement in the incident
she later recanted , saying she was pressured by police into identifying strickland . and even the prosecution took up the cause to have him released for wrongful conviction ,but the republican attorney general and the republican governor refused multiple times to grant clemency
the courts finally vaccated that wrongful conviction last week and released him after 42 yrs

Sad tale of racism in California?
As attorney general, Kamala Harris weaponized technicalities to keep wrongfully convicted people behind bars rather than allow them new trials with competent counsel and prosecutors willing to play fair. One of them, Kevin Cooper, is on death row. Another, George Gage, will die in prison without intervention from the governor. In both cases, Harris had the power to change the outcome. She could have demanded DNA testing in Cooper’s case. She refused. She could have conceded Gage’s conviction was based on the prosecutor’s decision to suppress evidence that devastated the credibility of the sole witness against him. She didn’t.

Kyle Clark, a KUSA-TV anchor, scolded his fellow journalists
for holding the Colorado Republican to a much different
standard that other elected officials in the state.

Clark said. "If we held her to the same standard as every
