If it had been Trump in charge and those were BLM activists protesting yet another unarmed black man being gunned down, he would've had them all cleared with maybe 45 minutes tops.

WASHINGTON — A Donald Trump supporter who entered the U.S. Capitol through a broken window and declared "this is war" on Jan. 6 was sentenced to 45 days behind bars on Wednesday.

Mariposa Castro, also known as Imelda Acosta, went live on Facebook on Jan. 6 when she was at the western front of the Capitol, where some of the most violent attacks on law enforcement during the Capitol siege took place.

U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton sentenced Castro on Wednesday morning, saying she appeared "gleeful" and "happy" about what was happening on Jan. 6. He also assessed a $5,000 fine, saying the attack of Jan. 6 "totally undermined" the peaceful transfer of power.

“I’ve been reading a couple books about how civil war starts, and so much of history is repeating itself in our country,” Judge Walton said. “I love this country, this country has been good to me, and to see what people are trying to do to this country... is just very concerning.”

NATO official says "we will do what it takes" to support Ukraine as response force is activated

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Friday that NATO will “do what it takes” to defend all its allies, including Ukraine, and “every inch of NATO territory,” confirming that the NATO Response Force (NRF) had been activated for the first time in response to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

“This goes far beyond Ukraine — this is about how Russia is actually challenging and contesting core values of our security, and demanding that NATO should withdraw all forces and infrastructure from almost half of our members,” Stoltenberg said.

“We have to take this seriously, and that is exactly why we are now deploying the NATO Response Force for the first time in a collective defense context,” he added.

Canada has closed its airspace to Russian aircraft, effective immediately, as the federal government pledges more equipment for Ukraine.

Canada's move comes as other European nations banned Russian planes from entering their own airspaces, including Germany, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Luxembourg, over the invasion of Ukraine.

Prior to Canada's announcement, Russia's flagship carrier Aeroflot operated multiple flights per day through Canadian airspace en route to the U.S. and elsewhere.

The UK already suspended Aeroflot's foreign carrier permit on Thursday.

Switzerland will forego "Swiss neutrality" and adopt same sanctions as EU against Russia

Switzerland has announced that it will forego its commitment to “Swiss neutrality” in favor of adopting sanctions against Russia, Swiss Federal President Ignazio Cassis said Monday, adding that Switzerland’s sanctions will be in line with those already adopted by the European Union.

“The Swiss Federal Council has decided today to fully adopt EU sanctions,”
Cassis said during a news briefing.
“It is an unparalleled action of Switzerland, who has always stayed neutral before.”

“Russia's attack is an attack on freedom, an attack on democracy,

of a free country. This cannot be accepted regarding international law,

FIFA and UEFA have suspended all Russian international and club teams from their competitions “until further notice,”

the governing bodies announced in a joint statement on Monday.

World football’s governing body, FIFA, and European football’s governing body, UEFA, said that both organizations’ presidents – Gianni Infantino and Aleksander Ceferin – “hope that the situation in Ukraine will improve significantly and rapidly so that football can again be a vector for unity and peace amongst people.”

UEFA’s club competitions include the men’s and women’s Champions League, the men’s Europa League and the men’s UEFA Conference League.

U.N. condemns Putin

A United Nations General Assembly vote has left Russia increasingly isolated on the international stage after it demanded an immediate end to the invasion of Ukraine.

The motion calling for the withdrawal of all occupying forces was backed by 141 countries during an emergency session in New York on Wednesday.

Resolutions of the General Assembly are not legally binding, but carry political weight by showing the strength of international feeling, and the result further diplomatically isolates Russia at the UN.

Biden admin added a whopping 678,000 jobs in February!

The U.S.  lost a total of 22 million jobs after the pandemic took hold in 2020 [under trump].

But things have turned around.

In February, 678,000 jobs were added, leaving the total number of jobs only 2.1 million shy of pre-pandemic levels.

The unemployment rate edged down to 3.85%, also better than expected, representing a new pandemic-era low.

Even more these days than before we need more good news like these.
