Democrats should do EVERYTHING in their power to shut the Senate down. This is simple:
1) A literal Russian agent may actually be occupying the Oval Office.
2) It's the McConnell Doctrine—no SCOTUS nominations during an election year.
GOP Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made that up out of whole cloth and now he should be stuck with it. If Democrats wonder why their base is heckling people—why voters seem especially restless or what some people are calling "uncivil"—it's precisely because our elected officials have failed to safeguard democracy at perhaps the darkest hour for our nation in nearly a century, if not more.
Democrats just this week lamented that they didn't fight hard enough for President Obama's Supreme Court nomination. And Republicans have entirely abdicated their constitutional responsibility to serve a check on executive power.
In short, elected officials are no longer representing the wishes of a majority of voters—who also did not vote popular-vote loser Donald Trump into office. It’s a legitimate crisis of unrepresentative democracy.
Some will say, if the Senate Democrats take an unwavering stand, it will hurt red state Democrats this fall. Forget about it. SHUT IT DOWN by whatever means possible.
If ever there were a time to turn the Supreme Court into an electoral issue on the left, this is it. If ever there were a time to FIGHT LIKE HELL for our democracy, this is it. Prove to THE PEOPLE—who did not popularly elect Donald Trump—that you are up to this political moment and worthy of their support.
Nothing less than the Republic is at stake.
And by god, no one who is still under suspicion of and investigation for obstructing justice and potentially being an agent of a foreign government should be allowed to nominate one of nine of the most powerful arbiters of fairness in our country. That is simply un-American.

Trump is single handedly destroying the Democratic Party. Trump owes the Dems nothing. The propagandists on MSNBC and CNN are almost as emotionally distraught as they were on election night broadcasting the landslide victory by President Trump.

The DNC did it to themselves...they chose to back the wrong candidate and destroyed the only person's campaign who would have beat Trump easily:

I love how the circus act lefts on this site never wants to blame their own party for allowing Trump to win an election which he wouldve lost vs Bernie...the DNC chose to rather lose with Hillary than to win with Bernie because Bernie didnt "fit their typical mold" of a Dem...looking back oh boy what the Dems would now do to have Bernie in the Oval office instead of what Wasserman ended up doing.
Trump is not a politician per se, but in everyday life, we all play political strategic games when making important life decisions...if you removed all mass media, and just looked at what hes done in his short time in the office, without prejudice or party allegiances whether you agree or disagree, its quite remarkable and historic all the things hes been willing to do as a president without the common "party shackles" limiting his decisions, versus all his recent predecessors who simply played the political game to ultimately stuff their pockets with millions of dollars while in the office making only the well known presidential salary....someone made a great point here recently...Obama came into the office relatively middle class in terms of overall wealth, yet left with a net worth of 50 million??? Exactly how did that happen? But who cares right? He got a general pass because he was likeable in this modern social media era...now Obama is stuck for the rest of his life being in limbo within his own party because as time goes by, more truths will always come out making him look like the typical politican hypocrite which they all are...the Dems are in real trouble and likely wont stand a chance until 2024, and even by then, i doubt any form of true leader will emerge unless some current millenial gains traction over the next several years as the new fresh face of the party....time will tell
