The Biden Presidency: Repairing America.....again

Trump had unemployment under 4% for a full year before Mr Science unleashed covid on the world. 

Biden is the beneficiary of trillions of printed money which allowed the work force to bring back workers which lowered UI. 

Currently UI is under 4%, however has been increasing since July of 22'. UI is predicted to continue to increase throughout the winter. 

Trump held UI under 4% longer than biden without the help of printed money. 

UI hit a low of 1.2% in 1944. So yes, an administration has had lower UI unlike the claim from fubduh about his historically low UI.  3.7% is NOT a historically low. Try again.

U.S. retail sales rise solidly;
fourth-quarter GDP estimates raised

According to the Hill, Biden administration announces $13 billion to help modernize US power grid to improve resilience against natural disasters and to meet the needs of growing economy.  This is the largest federal investment in electricity transmission in US history.

Yes, I agree, but it was a razor thin margins in some of the races involving election deniers and people who are OK with dismantling democracy as long as its their guy doing it, and they get to punish the people that they hold grievances and resentment against. Those people are not going to go away, and we will have to deal with the cancer that Trump and his legion of bootlicking sycophants unleashed when they decided to try and foster mistrust in our democratic institutions.

No disagreement here     It will definitely remain a significant problem for Democracy at least until the end of January 2025 for sure, and possibly much longer.

It almost doesn't matter how "trust" in anything is eroded or lost altogether; whether fair or unfair - because once trust wanes - such as in our institutions like the media, government, FBI, election process, the CDC, the FED, etc, even if the distrust is entirely based on falsehoods, fabrications, or partisan propaganda -  it is extremely difficult to get it back.

That's where we are now for a huge swath of our society.

It's why I find Trump's entire existence as completely objectionable, and now amount of "but but the libs" will ever make me support him or give quarter to those who DO support them. I do not support many Democratic policies but guess what? We can fight about policies after we turn away the authoritarians who are happy to ignore the results of elections that they do not win. This is a fundamental, inexcusable line in the sand in my head. I completely understand how people fall under this sway secondary to a hijacking of their fear mechanism. It's actually relatively sophisticated psychological manipulation put into action (a whole other story for a whole other thread) but I find it so dangerous and pernicious and disingenuous. It plays on people's worst impulses. An absolute tragedy what Trump has unleashed on our nation. I'll never forgive or forget. I've been Never Trump since 2015 and will remain so until the day I die. I lost complete faith in the GOP when they embraced him and his firehose of lies and grievances and resentment.

Reuters report Biden administration to reverse Trump restrictions on investing for registered retirement savings plans.  Investors concerned about climate change and racial injustice would be allowed to choose ethical mutual funds that consider social, environmental and political factors.  Financial industry has criticized Trump restrictions for failing to account for positive impact of ethically responsible companies on long term investment returns.  

Apparently Independents broke for the Democrats in the midterms by a very significant margin of 4 points, and the results made it emphatic!

A lot of people are fleeing the GOP and for good reasons.   Not per se because the Democrats are allegedly better in most respects, but instead they are fleeing the GOP because of Trump and Trumpism and have little other choices other than to vote Democrat.

I am no fan of the Democrats, but my litmus test is "will you willingly give up power when you lose elections, and will you not purposefully degrade confidence in our democratic institutions." I'll happily fight with the Democrats about policy issues later, but none of those policy issues matter if democracy itself is not protected by an outright rejection of those who refuse to recognize court rulings, the lawful results of elections that they don't win, etc. etc.

Funny how the only rigged elections in their minds are the ones they lose. I'm sure that's just a coincidence. /s
