Biden gave people money to stay home. His policy like everything he does is a failure. Why would people work when they don't have to. That's part of the problem. Can't find help , problems arise. Maybe democrats shouldn't have shut down businesses and production and maybe supply could keep up with demand. Closing production means whatever supply is left is going to get bought up. So when businesses re-open they need supply. When supply is low and demand is high, prices go up.
PRICES ARE UP BECAUSE PRODUCTION WAS SHUT DOWN. Remember "14 days to slow the curve" turned into a year long shut down.

New executive order aims to
alleviate congestion at California's ports
New York (CNN Business)To alleviate cargo congestion at shipping ports in California, Governor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order Wednesday tackling the shortage of truck drivers and container storage needed to move critical cargo out of the ports.
"California's ports are critical to our local, state and national economies and the state is taking action to support goods movement in the face of global disruptions," said Governor Newsom in a statement Wednesday. "My administration will continue to work with federal, state and industry partners on innovative solutions to tackle immediate challenges while also bringing our distribution processes into the 21st century."
The executive order directs state agencies to find state, federal and private land for short-term container storage while identifying freight routes for trucks so the state can temporarily exempt weight limits on the road.

Lying biden created this mess. By paying people to stay home and not work. People have few bucks, buy some things from China. Now since HE PAID PEOPLE TO STAY HOME, there is no way to put in stores, and pack out. Now... in order to do this, workers will be overpaid , products cost more, this is all passed onto the consumer. If creepy joe did not pay to stay home, we would be in this situation.

I haven't seen any shortages. I noticed lumber during the summer was up 100%-over 400%. Magically overnight the prices came back to normal. Meanwhile, while lumber was up over 100% the media claimed pricing was up "due to low supply, no truck drivers, bug infestation in Canada". Meanwhile Home depot and lumber yards were busting out of the seams with product in CA. I know some construction supplies are not getting produced because they are still trying to catch up from being shut down for months back in March/April. I know some of those products won't be ready until next year and there's no expected date of return. My grocery stores looks normal, although I spoke with some store employees and they mentioned some manufactures that package with plastic were having trouble producing.
I know clothing stores are starting to ship product in air, and they are paying 3x what normal shipping is to fill shelves. I think that has much to do with regulations and taxes on truck drivers and drivers refusing to drive in CA because they are basically driving for free in this state. Gas prices are hitting $5 so why the hell would any truck driver want to deliver to CA? They just refuse. Which will ultimately lead to higher prices on the shelves due to low supply. Again, NOT a private sector issue.
I also notice businesses that are supposed to check for vaccine passports are not. I would imagine if they did, they'd lost 40% of business as people would leave to the restaurant next door that isn't checking. Why would a business pay their employee to check passports when that employee can be contributing to actually making the business run?

It helps some. But reports say we are short of skilled truck drivers in comparison to the rising demand to move the freight even if they get offloaded onto docks.
