Biden orders retaliatory drone strike;
killing senior al-Qaida terrorist

(AP) — The U.S. military says it killed a senior al-Qaida leader
in an airstrike Friday in northwest Syria.

Army Maj. John Rigsbee, a spokesman for U.S. Central Command, said
that Abdul Hamid al-Matar was killed by a drone strike.

Rigsbee said the killing of al-Matar will disrupt al-Qaida’s
“ability to further plot and carry out global attacks threatening
U.S. citizens, our partners, and innocent civilians.”

He said al-Qaida “uses Syria as a base for threats
reaching into Syria, Iraq and beyond.”

The drone strike came two days after a U.S. military outpost in
southern Syria was hit by a coordinated attack that included
drones and rockets. U.S. officials said no American troops
stationed there were injured or killed.

Washington (CNN)The Biden administration is expected to name Kim Wyman,
a Republican  secretary of state who challenged the disgraced former President 
Trump's FALSE CLAIMS of election fraud,  to lead the Department of Homeland
Security's efforts to protect future elections from foreign and domestic interference.

The move would put Wyman in a prominent role working with election officials
across the country at a time when many members of her party have baselessly
cast doubt on the integrity of elections.

As a Republican secretary of state, Wyman repeatedly refuted 
Trump's  FALSE assertions that mail-in ballots invite fraud.
      Trump's proclamations, she said, were undermining US democracy. 
In a May interview with CNN's "New Day," Wyman sharply criticized the
sham "audit" of 2020 election results commissioned by Arizona Republicans.

If officially named, Wyman will have her work cut out for her.

Since Trump's humiliating defeat last November, election officials of
both parties have faced a torrent of mis- and disinformation from
Trump allies that election experts warn is a threat to US democracy.

The FBI has in recent months stepped up its efforts to investigate
the threats to state and local officials, CNN reported in September.

In a recent paper published by Stanford University, election security
experts warned that the threats [from rightwing terrorists] could prompt
election officials to leave the profession when they are needed most.

stock market is high, average Americans bank accounts are dwindling because the cost of gas and food is hitting all time highs and there's no lowering prices in sight. Large institutions and the top 1% are raking in massive profits while middle class and lower class fall behind. But the economy is good! The same people that hate the 1% for not "paying their fair share" continue to support the 1%.  If you hate the 1%, ask yourself...do you buy from Walmart, do you buy from Amazon? Don't complain about the 1% not paying their fair share when you give them your money. Blame the gov't for not going after tax loop holes and big instantiations manipulating the markets for their advantage.
