This recovery is hampered by the sheer depth of the sh!tpile the REPUBLICANS left behind, but hope is on the near horizon and getting closer every day, under the Biden admin.
very good point progress is slow because of the damage caused by the corrupt admin that immediately preceeded president biden but we will get there despite the repos trying to block or stall american progress
That's the unfortunate thing about it all.
yep republicans left a mess and its going to take quite awhile to fix it

“Biden spent a total of 108 of his first 276 days in office either vacationing or working from one of his two Delaware homes or from Camp David, according to a CNN analysis of Biden’s schedule”
“While most presidents have prioritized taking time away from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, this is the most time a president has spent away from the White House on personal travel at this point in the presidency in recent history.”

joe biden and all of his criminal enterprise were very proud to report that we saved .16 cents for our 4th of July celebration this year! Are you kidding me? 16 cents?
Has anybody had enough?
FJB! Let's go Brandon!

Thanksgiving prices are higher because there is more demand than last year when families scaled down due to the pandemic. The cost of corn to feed turkeys went up starting in July 2020. Extreme weather coupled with higher delivery costs have increased products normally used at Thanksgiving.
Blaming Biden for these increases is assine.

Inflation is happening under his time. He obviously doesn't directly control prices of corn, but inflation is here and it doesn't look to be going away anytime soon. Powell said it was transitory months ago. Clearly a lie. Almost all goods and services are up. IMO this is a direct correlation to shutting down businesses to "slow the curve". When you shut down businesses, then turn the money printer on and give almost everyone "free" money (which you'll eventually get higher taxes or in this case, inflation to recoup) which increases demand while basically halting supply, of course prices are going to rise as you burn through supply without new production. The real problem is prices are rising at a much faster rate then incomes are rising. Now add in rapid rising in prices, limited and slow production and lack of NEW jobs getting filled (kelly and fubah can say anything they want about employment filling, that's all BS to spin the narrative that everyone is screwed) you could be looking at hyperinflation which can absolutely destroy the economy. It's feeling like that's actually the plan and the media and gov't is blindly leading people in the wrong direction with misdirection.
IMO shutting down businesses and production to "slow the curve" was a major hit to the economy and one that would take years to rebuild. Yes, we consume a lot and maybe consumption needs to slow and maybe this is a lesson for all to conserve. But consumption is also what drives the economy forward. So we might have to take a hit for the short term so we can build back in the long term. Printing money to survive another day, week or month is only digging the hole deeper. Eventually we need to climb out of that hole and it's better to climb out before it gets too deep.. Which means a sacrifice and not turning on the money printer which will cause even more inflation.
Hyperinflation is when the price of goods and services increase uncontrollably for a sustained period of time. The technical definition of the term, though, sets a high threshold, with price increases of anywhere from 50% per month to 1,000% per year
In economics, stagflation or recession-inflation is a situation in which the inflation rate is high, the economic growth rate slows, and unemployment remains steadily high. It presents a dilemma for economic policy, since actions intended to lower inflation may exacerbate unemployment

and expecting everyone else to make their shit. Society needs more givers than takers. When takers outnumber the givers then nothing will ever get done and society will crumble. There needs to be incentive for people to want to do more.

Midnight1 is right. Inflation isn't Biden's fault. Worldwide, inflation is due to the necessary war against the pandemic to save lives rather than Biden policies. Likely causes of inflation include supply interruptions, labor shortages, tariffs on imported goods, and greater demand when the economy is recovering. Even if Trump is still president, there would still be inflation. Besides, controlling inflation is largely the responsibility of the Federal reserve which is independent of the president and congress.

Is the cost of inflation worth shutting down business? Obviously that would require looking back and playing the "what if" game, but it's a great conversation/ debate now that we're further along. Will more people suffer from inflation or covid? Inflation has only been around a handful of months, but looking like much longer or maybe even the new normal pricing.

I agree it appears as though we have more takers than givers & that isn't healthy for our society or economy. I don't really know when that changed in our country. My grandparents & parents taught us to give to those in need along with the street sense to know when you were being conned/taken advantage of in a situation.
So I look at my generation & wonder did we sow the seeds of discord or the generation of my kids that helped create the "me, me, me" phenomena of I'm going to get mine & screw everyone else. I suppose it doesn't matter at this point because the horse already left the barn.
I believe many in here are financially secure having worked hard/smart for their prosperity. However, we disagree in how our prosperity should be shared with others if shared at all. Most will take care of their families/friends first so we can take that out of the equation. But how do we leave our positive mark on society?
Does the country tell the "takers" to cowboy up & get their acts together or the assistance will end? If so, what new problems do we create?
We have a mess on our hands & pointing the finger at each other only exacerbates the issues.

Both Midnight1 and Thirdperson are 100% correct. Due to the pandemic inflation would still be here regardless who was in the White House. It's applicable to most western countries and economies. None of them are escaping inflation.
