Most of today’s Democrats began paying attention to politics only due to Trump and don't know, or forgot, any history before him.

It is so painfully obvious while watching biden's press conference that 'stolen' elections have severe consequences. Will the Russian equal of General Milley call him up to inform the United States that Russia is about to invade Ukraine?

@kcblitzkrieg
I wasn't accusing you of anything re: voting laws. I just asked if you could explain to me how a government can vote unanimously in favor of the right to vote for all in 2006 & can't in our present day.
So the question I posed to you was, what's so different now?
I know it's rare in this forum where someone poses a question obviously looking for a fight but I'm trying to change that by starting with myself.

Yes. The evil people were not successful in "stealing" the election from Joe Biden but they are certainly working now to assure themselves a three touchdown advantage before the next one.

@Midnight1
10/4 wasn't taking it as a fight, just threw me off guard here....as you said, it's rare to be posed a question to elicit critical thinking and healthy discussion in this sub...
2006 was a time long ago....since then we've had the GFC and the disparity gap between the top 1% and bottom 50% has widened so disproportionally we should be ashamed of our Country....people claim capitalism within a Democracy but the system we've had since 2008 has been transforming into what we have now, and have had for the last half of the past decade, a capitalist autocracy ran by the Federal Reserve and Wallstreet. The politicians are the puppets, they choose to do nothing.
DEMOCRACY
If and when a community organizes its self-governance around the full participation, on an equal basis, of all the members of the community.
AUTOCRACY
when a community organizes / allows its governance by an individual or subgroup of that community, a ruler.
Universal suffrage is clearly a step towards at least formal democracy because voters elect leaders. How real this formal democracy is depends on the inclusivity of the population voting and the concrete reality of voters’ equal influence on the election’s outcome.
So ask yourself if our Democracy accurately represents the "inclusivity of the population voting and the concrete reality of voters' equal influence". IMHO it's been a slow bleed to get from 2006 to how divisive things are now. People want someone to blame, it's human nature. Whether it be Bush, Obama, Trump or Biden...plenty of blame to go around on both sides. Bush ran two terms and then it was Obama's time for "change". This "change" never happened and the divide from within started becoming more noticeable. Trump did nothing to help, he played into it and 3/4 years later we saw the results...the other side just swung back just as hard....it's becoming "tit for tat" between the two sides, who can burn the other down faster....That is where we are now. Neither side has any incentive to the other to do anything positive, basically like "cutting off your nose to spite your face"....The system is broken and perhaps there are just enough people in the world to say "fuck it, let it burn, maybe things will get so bad that the system will be forced to change. Is that what each side of Congress is quietly saying to themselves?? I doubt it, politicians are in it for themselves first, then their donors then the people. Will there be someone who comes along and unites the divide??? I don't know but history tells us we shouldn't hold our breath.
I don't speak to things I know nothing about and I have no issue admitting I have not made myself familiar with the specifics of the discussion of voting rights in our present time. Macro level yes, understood, but I can't comment on the specifics.
What are your thoughts??

I am surprised he achieved that high a grade given that he was handed the WORST state of affairs in American history (from the previous admin) and still accomplished more for the American people in just 10 months of his presidency than any other president.

I am not a Joe Biden fan per se, but objectively speaking, he inherited the worst hand of any president in over 80 years, if not all American history. That fact is readily verifiable. Obama inherited a bad hand. Joe's was even worse!
And indeed he has definitely accomplished more in his first year than any other president in their first year, including the likes of FDR, Eisenhower, and Reagan.
That said, Joe's made mistakes. So it may not ultimately turn out very well for him, which means for America.

Economy grew 5.7% last year,
its best showing since 1984,
as activity revived amid pandemic
USA TODAY -
The U.S. economy bounced back sharply in the fourth quarter
as consumers splurged again after a summer spike in COVID-19
cases eased and businesses replenished depleted inventories.
The rebound helped the economy turn in its strongest year of
growth since 1984 as business reopenings and rising vaccinations
unleashed a well of pent-up demand.
The nation’s gross domestic product, the value of all goods
and services produced in the U.S., increased at a seasonally
adjusted annual rate of 6.9% in the October-December period,
the Commerce Department said Thursday.
Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had forecast a 5.3% rise in GDP.

I know you guys get beat down on a daily basis in here and I applaud you for coming back day after day just to continue to portray yourselves as the most rigid and closed minded individuals in this entire forum. Not being able to simply respond to legitimate, thought provoking questions that stimulate discussion that can lead to progress is very very sad and unfortunately representative of much of what is wrong with this country....putting left and right aside, you can't have progress as a civilized society without dialogue.
That said, I am seriously interested in the list of accomplishments President Poopy Pants should be praised for over the last 12 months? I help educate you 2, 3 or 4 individuals regularly and it would be a great service for you to help this entire forum understand what exact accomplishments we are talking about?
A bullet point type of list would suffice. Anything where we can see your examples of what we need to consider "good" so that this list can be compared to the former Presidents first year in office. I'm asking for your help because I've exhausted all of my resources in trying to find anything that would qualify on this "list".
Thank you and I really appreciate any help you can provide. If this post is met with SILENCE then I will 100% assume, like I do with all of my questions posed, that you do not have an answer for said post/question. Since 99% of my interaction in this sub is met with complete silence, I will not be surprised when you cannot give a simple response whether that be opinion or factual.....I'm hoping you surprise me though

The US economy grew 5.7% last year,
the fastest pace since Ronald Reagan
U.S.NEWS -
The last three months of the year were especially strong —
GDP grew at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 6.9% in the fourth quarter.
Why? Because even with inflation at its highest level in nearly
four decades and supply chains still backed up from the pandemic
shutdown, Americans will always treat Christmas shopping like
a professional sport.
And consumer spending accounts for more than two-thirds of gross domestic product.

Exactly. Getting money into Americans hands that was desperately needed (after the disaster created by the previous admin) was key to not only keeping the economy afloat and avoiding recession but actually improving it -- as the numbers clearly show.
