Biden administration rolls out effort to curb industrial greenhouse gas emissions
President Biden is launching a multi-pronged program to reduce industrial sector greenhouse gas emissions.
The centerpiece of the plan, which will cover activities like manufacturing and cement production, is $8 billion in spending on Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs, a Department of Energy initiative funded by the recently passed Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. (Clean Hydrogen, also known as Green Hydrogen, is created using low-carbon energy sources and can be used as a replacement for natural gas in uses such as heating.)
The Biden administration is also creating a Buy Clean Task Force that will prioritize buying products with lower carbon footprints for federal agencies such as the Department of Defense and the Department of Transportation
“With these announcements, we won’t just be creating more manufacturing jobs, we’ll be advancing clean manufacturing, so that we can lead the world with an industrial sector that is rapidly reducing greenhouse emissions [and] rapidly reducing local air pollution,” a senior administration official told reporters during a Monday press briefing

Biden sets first-year record with 6.6 million jobs added
New York (CNN Business) Employers added a record 6.6 million jobs during Joe Biden's first 12 months in office, by far the strongest record of any president's first year in office.
The unexpected strength of the January jobs report — along with some revisions in readings for November and December — pushed Biden over the 6 million mark!
But he could have claimed that distinction even without The previous record holder was Jimmy Carter, who saw a gain of 3.9 million jobs in his first 12 months in office.
By comparison, Trump's first 12 months in office notched a gain of just 2 million jobs.

While those are facts, we must acknowledge that most of the 6.6 million jobs added were part of the recovery from the 2020 covid pandemic and not new jobs creation.
Even so, it's still a notable achievement since the truth is it could just as easily have gone sideways.

The Biden administration also banned US dollar transactions with the Russian central bank in a move designed to prevent it accessing its “rainy day fund,” senior US administration officials said.
“Our strategy, to put it simply, is to make sure that the Russian economy goes backward as long as President Putin decides to go forward with his invasion of Ukraine,” a senior administration official said.

Sure, but any way you slice it, it's still miles better than what Trump did.

So here's the truth, and I'm certain the administration is fully aware of this:
regardless what President Biden says in his speech tonight about the future (he has almost 3 years left) his specific plans and means to accomplish modest goals to actually HELP the American people, American business, and move us into a world leadership role in industry, technology, and commerce . . .no matter how GOOD those plans and ideas might well be in some key areas that we can overwhelming agree is a GOOD thing...
NONE OF IT WILL MATTER
because we have a very polarized and split congress that WILL NOT pass anything significant for the next 3 years.
The Biden Infrastructure Deal was the last bill of any significance until sometime in early 2025 -- and if Congress is split again, then maybe not even then too.
And likewise when the republicans retake both the house and senate in November (as I have been stating here since 3 months before the last presidential election) Biden will simply veto any republican legislation that is perceived partisan or negative toward helping the majority of our population INCLUDING THE LOWER CLASSES.
So all the hope and good plans he may propose tonight which might seem wonderful and even hopeful -- forget it. Because nothing will get passed for the next 3 long years at least - maybe longer. That's not pessimism - that's REALISM, I am sorry to say. And no, it is not Joe Biden's fault. POLARIZATION has caused this.

Anything positive, he will take all the credit... all the problems he will blame trump...he will beat his chest claiming all is good because of him. Complete joke of administration...
2 hours later you said "will watch with an open mind."
Just noticed you got boxed so you can't respond here but I wanted to ask "what changed your mind in 2 hours?"

The GOP response has probably already been written prior to the address with some alterations prior to going live with the rebuttal. Sad it will be a rebuttal instead of "Yes sure, we will work with the President for the sake of our country,"
yep sad
i remember the good ole days when we used to hand out halloween treats to hundreds of little kids ; sing christmas carols and actually enjoy the festive season ; when we used buy a cop an ice cream just bcuz ; when we never heard of students talking back at teachers much less assaulting them ; how we used to have half the obesity rates we do today and half the health insurance premiums ; when we never had school or mall or church mass shootings ; when we came together as a nation - regardless red or blue, black or white - on and 9/11; when rudy g. was a good guy ; when we often heard a republican in the 90s remark how he "didnt like clinton much but damn he sure has the economy doing well" ; how we used have a thriving middle class ; how we used to celebrate the new year and 4th of july together regardless politics ; and how we always had a peaceful and respectful transfer of power in the whitehouse
those days r gone .
and like fubah said we have polarization now instead . and he is spot on

So much has changed, especially since 2017

There is no way in Hades that joe got 81M votes! It is time to put the actual winner of the 2020 election in the White House. His name is Donald John Trump!
I am watching the highlights of the State of the Union. You should be embarrassed if you voted for the man with dementia and camala. Time to ask for your vote back and ask for a re do!
FJB! Let's Go Brandon! Go Get Em!
