The dems won't tell anyone, but this is their best case scenario (at the expense of the tax payer of course). They desperately need the natural resources that Russia will soon have access to. $400 million for 31k people? That's almost $13k per person. Why would it cost that much? Should be able to get it done for a small fraction of that. More waste and abuse of taxpayer money.

OK, give this some thought.
It's about 36 million per state. Think about how you use the Internet & how it has changed how you live your life, how it has helped further your education, your entertainment, your knowledge, your healthcare, your private business, your communication with family/friends, e-commerce, financial data, weather, traffic , news etc.

The internet is great. I have no problem with the federal gov funding a program to bring high speed internet to rural areas. My problem is with the cost. They could do it for a fraction of that $400m. These are the same people that spend $400 for a hammer. As someone who pays out the a$$ in federal income taxes, I'd like to see them spend my money more wisely - a lot more wisely.
