In a normal presidency, the president would read the daily briefing. The intelligence group doesn't put data in there for shit and giggles. It is their main forum to alert the president with intelligence from all 17 intelligence groups that they deem important enough to notify the president.

I'm no fan of Trump...didn't even vote for him as I sat out the last election as neither option appealed to me. That said, I attempt to process all of the information and keep an open mind.
Trump is a moron but he has done a lot of good despite the headwinds the Dems have forced him to deal with for nearly 4 years.
If the source says that the topic was not discussed in any morning briefing because the intel was not credible, then that's good enough for me. The Dems prefer to just make this another conspiracy/witch hunt, which in the past, has done nothing but waste taxpayer money and divert our government from accomplishing goals for a stronger nation.

I don't think anyone was afraid of him draining the swamp. I like him a lot more than Hillary, a lot more than Biden, but let's be real. President Trump bends over for lobbyist and corporate America as much as any politician before him and more so than many. Drain the swamp? He's literally the creature from the black lagoon. Don't get me wrong, Hillary... Biden... no different.
Yes. He, for sure, is more lobbyist-friendly than Obama or most others. It seems his feeling is they are the SMEs in these areas — like say, for cabinet posts. There is some point in doing this — from a business standpoint, which is what he is used to. This way you get the right people in the right place to do the job they know best. You can make some argumentative points that this does not work as well — but for sure Trump is known for firing ineffective leaders.
Sure, he is for helping the corporations out. That is where the jobs are and he knows he needed to get folks to working.
But depending on how literal, or how far back you take the phrase ‘drain the swamp’ you can see more of that with him — than say Obama.
For instance, if you go back to Reagan and Grace and take it to mean something along the lines of waste, inefficiency, regulation, and red tape — I think you can see some progress. For sure, he has removed a lot of the regulations that were put in place before he got in office. You can draw a correlation to how this aids the corporations. But you can say he removed roadblocks and in a sense is helping to drain the swamp for them.
However, a lot of people were hoping for something more from him in this regard. But he does have to take the wins where he can get them. Never has a president had so much against him to get things done.
Don't forget..when the Soviets were bogged down in Afghanistan. Starting with the Carter administration and continuing through the Reagan and Bush administrations, the U.S. supplied financial assistance, arms, supplies, and in some cases, even training, to Afghan militants ( freedom fighters ), including jihadists, fighting the Soviets...
I do find it interesting that the Democrats were so quick to move on from this subject to other ways to attack Trump. Scooby....you were dead on with your post. The Dems have had years and years to do something productive for the country, but prefer to waste money attacking our leadership.
