Im in business, self employed, have just shy of 100 employees, i planned ahead to be properly stocked for PPEs and other necessities within the multiple industries i am heavily involved in, that doesnt make me any sort of genius, i was simply ahead of the curve and did my own research.
No business operates with zero risk of failure...they come and go...thats the nature of business.
Why did Pontiac and Oldsmobile not get bailed out but other American manufacturers did? Because Pontiac and Oldsmobile products sucked, their technology sucked, their brand sucked, their leaders and innovators sucked, their customer service sucked,,, etc.
And in all reality, 99% of the worlds businesses dont have a slush fund for a rainy day that goes beyond 14 business days and thats the truth.
When i get a call at 7am from one of my employees telling me they cant log onto their POS or the internet is down, nothing is worse to hear as an independent business owner than that...if youve ever owned your own business you will know exactly what that feels like in the pit of your stomach getting that call...if youve only been an employee your entire life, you simply cannot truly understand what that feels like or the implications that come with it.

That is extremely scarry stuff! Especially with how well the economy has been the past ten years. We know about individuals and people living month to month, but to see how fragile these businesses are seem pretty reckless.

I will forever be known as a successfulsmall business owner who always had his employees back during the initial times of panic and fear...once this is all over and we can resume business as normal, i will be the first in line to attack my own immediate competition and let all their customers and vendors know about them laying off and firing their staff and only thinking about themselves...business is war too and only the strong ultimately survive and thrive.

Talking about business as war, the way certain businesses are made to shut down, while others remain open also seems unfair, picking who survives. Yes, we need Walmart for food/pharmacies, but they also sell other stuff we don't need, say toys. However a mom and pop toy store has to close. Something just doesn't seem right there.
