really strange! Funny thing is the guy is not a conservative or republican just a lying conman with no moral compass amd no belief in GOD. I am sure there are some that do that.
I do not think most defend him in that way.
I think most rational folks realize how faulty he has been.
I think a lot of it stems back to him being a non-politician at a time when folks were extra-disillusioned with politicians.
Now, I think there is a faction that feel the Left has been out to get him since before day one. But they would have done that with any Republican. That part is what it is.
The issue they did not count on was him going right back at them in an even more forceful way. There are some folks that like that attitude, instead of the usual ‘placating’ attitude the Republican President usually uses.
Then some folks, rightly or wrongly, think things were better under him.
So, in that instance, it is more a defense of him by default as a way of showing disapproval of any Democrat of late.
The sad thing is that these are the two ‘best’ candidates to ‘defend’ from the best country in the world.

Post 47 is quite combative, my response to post 47 is you can be better than those you are complaining about. Better means avoiding bad outcomes, avoiding conflict and avoiding making things worse. Better is that you follow the rules of the site and avoid fighting with other members. If as you say the other side does not want to interact, just leave them alone and avoid a bad situation.
Why is taking the high ground some negative thing in your mind? You do not have to wait around for others to do as you want, its ok that others see different than you and disagree but the focus of our objectives here is to create positive respectful discussion and avoid stalking, antagonizing, making the situation worse. I do not see that side trailing your side in the main forums and causing issues. For the most part they keep to themselves, at a bare minimum that is what you should do if not better.

Smart choice and I hope you do that towards all members going forward. None of what I wrote is fabricated, every single thing I said is action/word/post based. You do all the things I listed exactly as I listed it. Say that you are not partisan in words but your actions and deeds say otherwise, I will go based on your actions and posts not what quasi-rap you think is cute but your actions towards other members and me. As I wrote to Raiders above I hope you will 100% avoid the other party that you obviously cannot get along with and have stalked many times, just avoid them completely and associate with those who think your schtick is interesting and want to reply back to you.
The great thing about this site is we have enough members that most anyone can find people who like their style or approach and there is no reason to harass those who might not or that might disagree with you and especially politically.

@UNIMAN I dont see it that way post #32 I think Trump succeeds with your party because there are many in your party who are like Trump who are little ego selfish the world must follow my religious beliefs mindset. So even though he is like one of the worst people I have ever run across that isnt in jail he still has a strong audience. People in the GOP group and even here want to slam their own personal views down the throats of everyone else...it is not about consensus and shared views it is about my guns my religion my hatred of the left thus a real awful person has an audience with the GOP. Wall can only prove a point if he categorizes and puts you in a certain group...it's the polyamorous way of segregating the constituents...you have to be either or even if you tell him you are neither...see, not picking a side confuses people because they don't understand logistically how that is possible....and if you don't pick a side they can't point the finger at you and call you names or create rationale that others can follow...so instead of believing that you don't have a side they counter with one that fits their narrative

No it is not combative at all. It is an honest assessment is all. I do not 'fight' with anyone on here. I did not say anything about them not interacting with others. Perhaps, you are mixing folks up on here.
I am not 'complaining' about anyone, simply pointing out their actions.
It is your definition of 'high ground' that is the problem. Why does it only have to be 'high ground' when you agree with it. When it is something you do not want to be 'inclusive' about or find 'common ground' on -- then it is 'combative' or not the 'high ground'.
You can disagree with folks without all of that. I do it all the time. You should try it, because you certainly come off as being 'combative' and not being 'inclusive' -- you simply break all of those 'rules' you claim those other folks are breaking.
There are no rules against disagreeing with someone; simply do not make it a personal attack or resort to name calling; you do both of those things all of the time with your snarky comments to those folks on here.
You are wrong about 'the other side' keeping to themselves. They absolutely do not do that. They spam every thread and are intentionally being disruptive when there is a discussion going on they disagree with. Look at this very thread, for example.
So, I think you may have mixed up who you were replying to and about what. But you addressed me with that post. I never am combative. Being assertive about an opinion you disagree with is not combative. I never name-call or belittle someone or their opinion. Usually it is simply using facts or data with me to support an opposing view.
I respect folks having a different opinion -- that is expected; what is not expected is for them to stick to them when proven wrong. That is silly.
When you are shown to be wrong or your opinion is based on faulty facts -- simply admit it and adjust accordingly.
We all make mistakes and are wrong from time to time.]

Absolutely you can. It is done all of the time. A lot of open forums have these debates all of the time. Other political and sports and religious forums have it as well.
it is just that people are dogmatic and opinionated about sports, religion, and politics.
On here, there may not be the right mix of folks that are willing or capable of doing it; but it can be done and is done.

Why did they do it?
There are far more than three if you want to break it down like that. I would say seven. I read a good article the other day that broke it down that way and explained it. I think they had seven, or maybe nine, distinct categories they classified as parties.
I think it is a misnomer 'most Americans want bipartisanship'. There is never a time where the Democrats submit to a Republican policy or agenda in the name of being bipartisan. They are not the party of compromising. The Republicans do that to the detriment of their own cause(s). That is the issue I often talk about when I say they never unite behind their candidates like the Democrats always do, etc.
For example,e right now there are a lot of Never-Trump guys/gals out there. That is why so many of DeSantis/Haley/Vivek interest was out there. These is no interest in anyone running against Biden.

WOW! I am surprised. I started okay in MLB. But these last few weeks have been horrendous!! I think was +80 units and +30 units the last two years. But this year has turned awful.
A lot of it has to do with the new rules things and I have not adjusted enough to them. The phantom runners and changing pitchers after 4-5 innings and then changing pitchers every inning until you can find one to lose the game for you!
MLB has changed a lot -- for the worse in my opinion.

Democrats versus the Republicans is like the Capulets versus the Montagues....Shakespeare never really explains to us why these families hate each other...we don't know if there was a fight or if they disagreed on something or if someone touched someones sister in the wrong way, but they hated and despised one another for certain...I believe he did this intentionally so that the mind could wander and create its own reason....somewhat similar to the gold reflection in the briefcase that Jules is carrying in Pulp Fiction that belonged to Marcellus...
This forum is the Capulets and the Montagues and most don't even know why they are fighting...the government is broken and needs fixing...be deranged if you want, but things really need to be rearranged...

Nikki Haley got 22% because there was no vote for Biden so 128,000 Trump hating Dems voted for Nikki. Too funny.
