Did he really say that, or am I just hallucinating? &#xA;I cannot even describe how stupid this is. I can imagine walking up to some of my clients and saying this. &#xA;This is stupidity at the highest level. Just straight up moronic level stupidity that cannot be matched. It will never be topped by any President. EVER.&#xA;This is not something a President would normally say. Normal being any other time in history. This is something that a buffoon would say. An idiot. A moron. An imbecile. I cannot believe this reality I am living right now.

BTW I imagine many with this opioid addiction are probably using the system maybe at one time used their EBT card for a deal!

You might be hallucinating we all do but we all don't turn to drugs, we know we are abled bodied so we all work.

I agree it is easy not to take any drug but it isn't easy after taking to wake-up and go to work and you probably agree.

You liberals just jump on anything he says without even thinking about it. Hell I had the best pain doctor in the area for 5-6 years until I finally saw how brutal everything about me had become and did the embarrassing rehab thing last year. Doc gave me a fake injury and 180 mgs of Roxie’s a day along with 3 bars haha. So I have been hooked hard and obviously had friends then that were. Something I picked up in rehab is people that have never done a hard drug honestly have zero clue about it. I was with people shooting up and was honestly shocked that one girl who was a veterinarian would take USED animal needles when she ran out of them!! I have no clue how anyone could get that bad but I’m sure my wife, sister, and mom wondered the same about me!! Haha.

Not everyone has lived in the drug world so how would they get it?

It is very easy not to take them !  Opioids cause side effects for a reason. Duh !!!!   Only people who are getting screwed are the people who really need the meds !!!  People aren&#x27;t overdosing from oxycodone or vicodin. Less than 3% of those people go on to heroin . I love how people make comments about opioids but have never been on them for an extended period of time. It&#x27;s an absolute joke!!!!!!!

This thread is a great example of how divided this country is and how a really cancerous jerk as president is making the divide more personal and much worse.

Trump says moronic things pretty much every day and many insulting, really disingenuous things like this nearly every day. He is an elitist, out of touch shallow ego putz and his legacy proves this year after year, decade after decade.

But people actually agree with him because many really think like this...people think that addictive personalities are really non-existent and being addicted to pain killers is some choice and a way to get high for free.

Only someone who has this disorder/tendency understands what a seriously stupid thing even to say those words irregardless of ANY context or scenario...saying those words at any time is just absurd and seriously demeaning and insulting.

I had a friend who lost his wife to succumbing to methadone trying to get off pain killers. She got in an auto accident and was prescribed pain killers and got hooked. She had no history of this, she was a simple person raising three kids and living a middle class life in her twenties. She was trying to clear herself off the pain killers by taking methadone and one day she just did not wake up, died in her sleep.

Trump is a cancer, he has no clue about anyone but himself and his elitist surroundings, it is disgusting.

Trump believes that he would have been an alcoholic if he drank. But he never drank. He has a tremendous amount of empathy for alcoholics and addicts because he loved his brother Fred and he watched him suffer. I’ve read a few stories of Trump’s friends asking him to talk to their kids that are struggling.

There is no context that qualifies for what he said. The issue isnt recreational or intentional use because the real serious reasons are not with regard to "its easy not to take them" well of course it is easy not to take them by choice...but saying such things is a large insult to those who took for legit reasons due to injury or excessive pain.

No emergency declaration can do much to reduce the impact of oploid addiction without increased federal funding for medical treatment. For example, improved access to naloxine drug can quickly counteract effects of oploid overdoses. Otherwise deaths will remain at record levels.
