A way to keep clean energy more expensive a 30 percent tariff will be added to imported panels.... move to allow coal to become more lucrative in bottom lines of large corporations energy needs... real Dave move their Donna.

This is just a game he is playing, trying to tick off China and support big oil as usual.
Who this hurts are the small solar installers, the small to mid size biz guys trying to make margin not having to buy overpriced FirstSolar panels.
The larger installs arent using the kind of panels he decided to make a tweet about, as always this helps his group and hurts the little guy.
I have a solar array, had it for 5 plus years and I did my research found deals and it has been a solid investment decision for me, I was considering upgrading a portion of my array to higher wattage panels if the price was decent but this dumb decision will just mop up supply and put thousands of indy installers and workers out of employment.
Good job Trump...you dope.

Well go back and find those comments, I was not thrilled about it back then as it is just a ploy...but thanks for bringing Obama into the discussion, that is always refreshing. Oh and it did not remedy my comments about who this hurts btw..

So you are ok with the fact that this hits the little guy smack in the face then?

I doubt there was much said about it, but the reality is you will be hard pressed to find much blanket political partisan garbage from me. I am not a blind parrot for a political party in the slightest. If I have to choose on things like spending I will lean to social spending vs military and corporate freebies.

No I am not kidding, I am not at all partisan. What you see on this site are extremes, we have two groups of pretty extreme partisans...in fact I had some friends who were almost as partisan as some people here are and I could not continue to be friends with them it is so pathetic seeing people blindly side with their party for no other reason than it is their party...they cannot defend or rationalize the point but they support it just because it supports their party bias. I hate that. So you see me replying to these extreme messages, that does not make me partisan at all. Partisan means you follow irregardless of the person and their qualities. I am the opposite of this. I think you are mistaken on understanding what blind partisan means and thats ok.
And yeah there are only a few choices on spending because of partisan garbage...one side heavily supports certain things that they owe to corps and their IOU's to special interests and the other owes to theirs...its all a big payback because we allow money to control politics. That said, if I have to choose which I would go with then social programs it is. I think the way we adminster programs is biased to corps as I stated above, but if that is all I can decide between then I would rather give as much as I can to the least of our citizens than to the elite and the war makers.

Obama did place a tariff on China to protect Splenda which became sun solar now first solar. Trump put a tariff on all solar to protect coal interests in Wyoming.
There is a huge difference between the two policies Obama did want to protect Americans working in America Trump wNts to remove solar as viable energy alternative to coal and press for coal.

SS,
Good job deflecting as usual...who cares if Al Gore likes it or not, its a dumb point.
The reality is that this whole thing is a tv sitcom episode and nothing more. Since 2011 the way China has got around this is to offshore FINAL production to countries not impacted by the tariff and ship from there. China used to be the dominant shipper of solar, now they are something in the 10-11% range only and Malaysia is now the leader because they are not the list of countries impacted so Chinese companies open shop there to put on some hex screws and ship the product...that is how they get around this joke. I'd imagine that there are added costs from Chinese companies shipping WIP to the finished goods location for final screws and shipment but overall nothing too severe.
Yeah way to go Trump, you are really showing the Chinese who is boss.

Nah that shows you he hasnt done his research..it didnt take long to find out how China gets around this farce PR piece, but one thing for sure is the US government plays tough in the media but really does not mean it. Corps get around things, countries get around things. If we really meant to tariff then it would be to all and any...not some twitter banter to try and provoke China.

You have it wrong because the restriction is not for many countries at all, so this does not impact China hardly at all. So back slap Trump all you want, it is doing nothing. Do you know what WIP is anyway? WIP is work in progress goods...so China develops and can build the majority of the product, then ship it to Malaysia to put some screws in and ship...all with zero tariff. If Trump was serious, as I stated above he would put the tariff on ALL and ANY country importing panels...of all scope, not just residential panels that China develops....but then that cannot happen because it would impact corporate interests and profits here. Notice the theme.
And yeah same thing happened with Obama, thanks for the Obama reference, it is so important to tit-for-tat as you guys love to do.
