According to records reported by OpenSecrets.org, Nord Stream 2 paid American lobbying firm Roberti Global $5 million since 2020 for co-founder Vincent Roberti to lobby in support of the pipeline.
Roberti is a Democratic donor and a former adviser to President Biden's 2008 run for president.
No wonder Joe immediately removed those Trump imposed sanctions when he took office!

Putin telegraphed his intentions for days & last night I learned Ukraine has asked the West for one thing that still hadn't arrived & it blew my mind.
They requested satellite radios & as of yesterday they had not arrived.
How could that have happened?

The more Republicans criticize Biden's policy toward Russia, the less clear it is what they don't like about it. Saying "weak" over and over again isn't a serious critique.
The GOP is the party of grievances with no ideas or gumption to do what's best for the country.

The State of Texas stands with the people of Ukraine in their fight for sovereignty. May God bless them and keep them safe. The United States must do all we can to repel Putin's invasion.--Tweet, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott
I may have disagreed with Gov. Abbott in many other issues but I give him thumbs up on this one! Thank you Gov. Abbott.

The Green New Deal mindset shut down domestic energy production. No nuclear energy. No fracking. No keystone pipeline. It was a gift to Putin. Don’t hyperventilate. Use logic to explain why it wasn’t. (You can’t.)
Putin waited until the West was weakly led, low on patriotism and manhood, with a media obsessed over domestic trivialities, and politicians with a penchant for waging war on their own citizens.
Perfect timing.

Anyhow not really much anyone can do. Russia has nukes, Putin got China’s OK and has a financial situation worked out. We in the US are the biggest losers. No keystone pipeline. No clean nuclear power. No clout. A bunch of saps soon to be paying $6 a gallon.
Nice job democrats

Yep. Looking back, Trump said some outlandish sh*t, but actions speak louder than words. Played nice, put up a front with America’s adversaries while acting in our interest.
Total opposite when Obama was president and again with Biden. As recent as 2014 al qaeda was enemy #1 while Russia was actively annexing parts of Ukraine. They say all the right things but the actions are not in our best interest. Helping to finance putin by giving up our energy independence and those Europe having to rely on russian oil and gas today
We can all agree and be thankful that after Obama decimated the military because he had no idea who the fiercest geopolitical foes were that Trump came along and poured resources back in with attempts to modernize our capabilities. Tried getting NATO to up their budget contributions as well in anticipation something like this might not be too far off after what happened in 2014.

The misinformation bots explanation: Chump had his fingers crossed and was winking with the eye that wasn't in camera view. They won't address this, just fun to act like they actually would address a fact

I mentioned some of mine, sanctions will only work so much. We need to resume our energy independence and stop sending money to Russia/Ukraine. Your answers?

Careful with your personal insults, not much more will be allowed and that is why I moved that thread is because some of you are unable to keep replies from being personal attacks.
You know why the US was able to be "energy independent" right? Or is it just the usual USA USA USA brain dead reply?
The marginal supply providers are able to get dirt cheap funding because the FED has kept rates down here for so long and that means the big players can gamble (like Conoco and Exxon) and the fringe players were gambling heavily, and when you stop caring about that toxic byproduct entering the water table with Trump in office then frackers did whatever they wanted and nobody stopped them. And yes it was due to Trump being in office, Repubs are not overly concerned with the environmental impacts of injecting natural gas fluid into rock layers and where that mixture ends up after the heavy mixture is extracted. When oil is over 60 frackers can make ends meet and that is why production went up. Forward to the drop in oil and MANY big frackers and most small players got crushed and stopped production, big players like Exxon and Conoco pulled back because the numbers no longer worked with oil being down below say 40. Then fast forward to the economy resuming and production being reduced and frackers being skiddish if not gone and you get a reactionary move in oil. So how is this shocking that we cannot be energy independent when you factor in being concerned about the environmental impact AND oil supply dropped when the marginal players were out of the market?
Nah its Biden vs Trump always when in reality its 100% a reactionary move when oil got hit, frackers got smashed and now rates should go up and that will also impact the cost of capital and reduce the marginal higher risk projects.
