US Army Begging Soldiers to Come Back!

I understand and am sure he is correct even in the areas he is not in.  

I get that it is hard to convince young guys that is the right direction for them.  Even during 'peacetime' it has never been easy.  Folks always think they have great ambitions coming out of HS.

Unless a WWII or 9/11 causes a jump it will be hard for a young guy to realize that they are getting a good jump in life with the things they will learn and see.  It has to be convincing enough to offset the dangers and lack of money and lack of freedom their buddies back home have.  But for some it is absolutely the correct choice.

Yes, I agree I cannot stand the term 'Woke" to start with --  I have many other terms and phrases I prefer.  But when you use it folks do know what you mean by it now. 

I think you are right -- as I just posted above before I read this.  I do not think that is hurting the recruitment so much -- these kids are raised at school on 'woke' things now and see it everyday in life.  They do not know a life without it.

 It is tough in a way.  He is fun to watch and easy to root for because he is small, etc.

But another time a group needs to admit they were wrong and move on.  But wish guys like that could be talked into doing another role on the team.

But games where average teams make so many mistakes against you -- you have to be able to win those.  They had that sort of chance today.

The truth is the military recruiting services missed their recruting goals in 1999, 2005, and 2018 before 2022 became the worst since Vietnam era 1973.

Immunization action coalition supports covid vaccination for military.  For decades, 99% of troops often receive at least a dozen different vaccines as job requirement.  Covid vaccination is consistent with military long standing policy to ensure combat readiness.  Vaccination is part of physical fitness.  Unvaccinated military is more vulnerable and weaker.  Weak excuse to refuse vaccines proven to be safe and effective.  Lifting vaccine mandate is a political decision not supported by doctors and defense department.  US defense department survey reveals that a large majority of potential recruits said vaccine mandate did not affect the likelihood of enrollment.

I have no problems with actual vaccines. Mumps vaccine is said to be 90% effective in preventing mumps. Polio vax is 99% effective. Measel vax is 99% effective.

When 6 out 10 COVID deaths are the vaccinated I question whether it truely is a vaccine or just a specific flu shot. 

And I disagree with the Op on a few points. The original vaccine was very effective with the original COVID. Saved thousand of elderly lives early on. The CDC and Fauci warned early on that a mutation could undo all we have gained. And sure enough Delta did just that and Omicron took it one step further. Yet when Delta hit and the numbers were in that it bypassed the vaccine this Admin outright lied and said get vaxed and you won't go to hospital, or die, or even get COVID. They continued to force the vaccination on whoever they could. They used data from Jan 2021, before Delta, to say "pandemic of the unvaccinated." Outright deception and lies.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Never can I trust them again. 

End of January 2022 wife and I travel to Vegas. A typical day in a casino. "Sir, you need a mask on. Oh, your smoking? Ok, you can drop your mask to smoke, everbody else mask up!" 

So the wife and I seek out a corner in the casino where nobody else are sitting to have some social distancing. After a few minutes another couple ploops down right next to me. Hey I said, how about moving down a couple of machines for social distancing? "Ah, we're bulletproof, vaccinated and boostered the man proudly proclaims!" As we are leaving my wife says to him, " You'll get it for sure."

So how many vaccinated and boostered thought that way? How many died because of it? Hmmmm.

Then I read Nevada had strict rules on mandatory masking. Only after a least two weeks of very low new infections numbers would the mask mandate be lifted (for nonsmokers). Following the science I was told. At that time looking at the current infection rate this was no chance of reaching the low numbers needed in the forseeable future. Next day Governor Sisolak removes the mask mandate, it's Superbowl week don't ya know! 

In Minnesota alone, 1,856 fully vaccinated died in the 8 months after Joe said get vaxed and won't even get COVID.

Many of our soldiers are stationed overseas and away from their families during the holidays. Imagine not having your Mom or Dad with you on Christmas morning. Well, I learned of a way to bring these soldiers closer to their kids on Christmas via the USO.

For $59 an overseas soldiers can read a bedtime story on camera to their child back home. Many soldiers can't afford to "splurge" on this gift & we can all help by going to the USO website. Imagine giving a gift to a family that you don't even know. Think about seeing your Dad/Mom on Christmas morning even though they are miles away from home. How cool is that?

Some vaccines last a lifetime while others don't.  Measles, polio and smallpox viruses are stable with low mutation rates.  However viruses that mutate often like influenza requires a different flu shot every year.  All vaccines are still formidable tools in reducing human suffering and prolonging life.  Hundreds of thousands of covid deaths could have been prevented if more Americans have been vaccinated.  Studies comparing covid rates among boosted individuals versus unvaccinated individuals have found 55% to 99% lower risk of severe illness among those who are fully boosted with updated vaccines.

However viruses that mutate often like influenza requires a different flu shot every year......boosted with updated vaccines.

And by the time a shot for a specific strain is developed and released a new strain emerges and again 6 of 10 that die had the latest shot.

This finding actually underscore the importance of staying up-to-date on vaccines.  Since both natural and vaccine immunity diminish over time, boosting is needed to maintain immunity.  Maximum effectiveness of vaccination usually require populations to be vaccinated for many years.

Now show us all Trump saying troops are suckers and losers.
