What do we make of the Atlanta Police?

He got fired, and the Chief resigned.

Did they do wrong? Drunk guy driving, resisting arrest, then stole the cops tazer and pointed it at them while running away.

What is the official protocol for the police in this situation?

Lastly, why the hell did people burn down a Wendy's in Atlanta? Just because this situation happened at a Wendy's?

I'm giving up on humanity(on both sides) fast.

Pretty messed up. As a black man I believe we need to pick our battles. If we want people to be sympathetic to issues involving race, we can't cry wolf. This dude had it coming to him.

Race is the big issue right now and the politicians and media have declared that "whitey" is always wrong, and if he is a white cop, doubly so. If the drunk had gotten his burger and killed 5 black people in a black family by driving drunk on the way home it would not be national news or a reason for rioting. It would be tragic, but only local news, nbfd, happens every day.

Maybe just because he was asleep at the Wendy's adn they called the police?  Maybe because of the news of the guy that owns hundreds of Wendy's donated $400,000 to Trump's reelection campaign?  Maybe for no reason at all except it was opportune?

What did this guy in Atlanta do ?  Neither of the two....and then people wonder why the police get aggressive at trying to control the situation. 

The cop shouldn't have been fired.  The ATL chief should have had a backbone and stood up for the behavior of her cops (which seemed reasonable under the circumstances).  

Many kids that do not have a father in the family..do not grow up to respect authority.,,as a result as they grow up ..they don't feel like they have to take orders from anyone..including the police..So, situations like this and like many the same in the past will happen over and over again..till our society changes and women marry before they start having children....Because,it's the same now as it ever was a boy needs a father to instruct them how to act..and to respect authority..if this doesn't happen more males will continue to not respect the authority of the police and resist arrest.

...but it's Atlanta so it was probably black people rioting and vandalizing too. San Francisco, New York, LA, Portland, ect... probably a lot of white people. Baltimore, St.Louis, Atlanta, ect... probably not so many.

To be fair, Native Americans barely do exist. How many have you run into this week? I'd never seen Native Americans outside of a rez doing normal shit until I moved into the Northwest. And to make a humorous exchange between Slim and I real, where had either of us even mentioned "oppression". We were making a distinction between looters and rioters/vandalizers and how that tied into race. But everytime I talk about boxing, some white person gotta pull Rocky Marciano out they ass. And as much as white america loves to hold up asians as the gold standard of possible prosperity, it shows how small minded they are because they are really talking about two or three countries. And this is the discussion that BLM and the white anarchists don't want to hear.  Corporate heads  and sports figures are really no better ; they are only fanning the flames of the false "systemic racism" talking point, and don't want to dare discuss the core issues that you pointed out..
