There is always an objective to those who orchestrated this event because I can't seem to grasp 1000 of American idiots doing something like this knowing that if they fail they gonna be smoked in federal court for absolutely nothing in mind but to start nothing but a little fuss....

The strategy IMO was to create chaos around the Capital while the electoral votes were being counted. When the gates were opened by Capital police & no one was stopping the mob from climbing the walls, the gloves came off & it was anything goes.
This was 3rd world country bullshit that took place on/in the Capital grounds/building.

Maybe I can help a little with a lot of confusion here. Spiro Agnew was VP under Nixon. He was caught dead to rights on corruption charges (bribery) from the time he was Governor of Maryland. When he resigned Nixon nominated (NOT appointed) Gerald Ford to replace him. By the approval of Congress Ford was accepted as VP, and wound up replacing Nixon when he resigned. Everybody got that straight?
Gerald Ford, at his inauguration, gave us a classic line I which Joe Biden would repeat.
The first words out of Ford's mouth in his inaugural address were, "My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over."
Standing ovation from the Congress, both parties, no partisanship.
Now and then even a BLIND squirrel can find an acorn

i believe there was a gap after agnew left. and another gap before rockefeller was appointed.
i still don't understand rockefeller appointment.... people are saying pelosi would be VP (she could not accept and they go further down the line)... i don't see trump/pence/pelosi as different from nixon/ford/rockefeller......
i am obsessed with knowledge... ultimately, how rockefeller came to be VP is not relevent to much.

Again Rockefeller had to be approved by Senate to be VP,my guess would be that was Ford's way of repaying the family for all the money they gave him on his way to the WH, Ford did lose when he ran for POTUS against Jimmy Carter and he picked Bob Dole as his VP to run with.

ok, it looks like pelosi would not become VP if Pence becomes President.... lots of bad info out there. and i fell victim to it. maybe my own reading comprehension.
pelosi would become president if pence/trump both leave quickly (whatever reason) or if presidency itself was in suspended state (not clear what happens if neither trump nor biden got near 270 votes... does trump just stay for awhile longer? or is he no longer president? i.e. his term ended, like one of the georgia senators.
shockingly R/deplorables wrongly brought this up as potential horror situation if KH becomes president with JB leaving..... no matter what you think of nancy pelosi, i can't see how her as VP could be worse than her as house leader. in fact, i would have thought it preferable.
pelosi as VP to Trump would be hillarity.. but it looks like it would never "ensue"... Pelosi as VP to Pence temporarily would be "meh" as it would be temporary and neither is "bat-sht insane".. and of course, as noted it would never happen.
i got bad info.. my bad... apparently in 1960s (JFK assassination) they passed an amendment clarifying the VP position. previously it was quite vague.

That would be like trying to find the objective of a child throwing a tantrum, i don't think they really think out the whole process beforehand.
no not the inbred qnon lot. Or the mass of chaos.
But this bitch.
The US Army is investigating a psychological operations officer who led a group of people from North Carolina to the rally in Washington, DC that led up to the deadly riot in the US Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump.
Commanders at Fort Bragg are reviewing Captain Emily Rainey’s involvement in last week’s events in the nation’s capital.
Trust she wasn't their to run her mouth she should be court.marshalled for conduct unbecoming an officer of the US army and thrown to Leavenworth.

Chain of events 2 am pence informs Trump of his unwillingness to violate his oath of office.

Just to be clear of the terms and what Bragg bitches department does.

The United States has a capability gap in detecting malign or subversive information campaigns before these campaigns substantially influence the attitudes and behaviors of large audiences. Although there is ongoing research into detecting parts of such campaigns (e.g., compromised accounts and "fake news" stories), this report addresses a novel method to detect whole efforts. The authors adapted an existing social media analysis method, combining network analysis and text analysis to map, visualize, and understand the communities interacting on social media. As a case study, they examined whether Russia and its agents might have used Russia's hosting of the 2018 World Cup as a launching point for malign and subversive information efforts. The authors analyzed approximately 69 million tweets, in three languages, about the World Cup in the month before and the month after the event, and they identified what appear to be two distinct Russian information efforts, one aimed at Russian-speaking and one at French-speaking audiences. Notably, the latter specifically targeted the populist gilets jaunes (yellow vests) movement; detecting this effort months before it made headlines illustrates the value of this method. To help others use and develop the method, the authors detail the specifics of their analysis and share lessons learned. Outside entities should be able to replicate the analysis in new contexts with new data sets. Given the importance of detecting malign information efforts on social media, it is hoped that the U.S. government can efficiently and quickly implement this or a similar method.
We need a better vetting process before we train more future enemies of The United States.

There was also a guy in Nixon Cabinet I believe it was,but not positive on that, but he was a Military guy,General Haig I think it was,who announced that he was in charge when some terrorist plot or something took place, sure someone on here can remember, think he could of been in Regan's Cabinet and claimed it when Reagan got shot, but they made changes then to insure that there would not be any more confusion during crises that arise.
Your also right,Sec.of the House is 3rd in line and I believe that happened in this time frame,
also I was serious about Ford making the rich guy his VP,it came out of no where so at the time we just figured it had to do with money, might not of but he never gave a reason.
