Neither bill Gates nor Lebron James could ever be president. Also no 1 Ever disputed whether u can be successful without a college degree. The point of the post was the circumstances under which Walker failed to get a degree. It is also interesting to note that he has been less than forthright in his attempts to rationalize his failure to graduate

Well I am disputing that someone without a college degree could run this country. Just a moronic statement. You should have said Bill Gates would never want to be President. For crying out loud look at some of our past Presidents.

Check your English or u might be accused of being a moron. Doubt Bill would want to be pres but regardless he would never be elected. Your calling some1 stupid but u don't seem to grasp that I never said that some1 who didn't go to college wasn't smart enough to be president

The point of my post is that college is/can be a means to your successful career path. Whether it is business, sports, or politics. Obviously, Gates didn't need a degree to run a business; James didn't need a degree to play ball; and Walker didn't need one to be a successful politician.
College always opens more doors than it closes but is not the cure-all it is made out to be.
It is not a requirement to be President. We may want our politicians to have one, but it is not needed. Several of out last presidents have had Ivy League degrees---we think most of them were buffoons. So not sure why folks think it is necessary. An awful lot of bright, successful people have quit college---especially once they realized it wasn't needed.
Realistically college is needed for maybe two fields. Nearly all else can be self-learned or on the job trainined.
A lot can be said for good ole CHS.

He ain't smart enuff to finish college then he shouldn't be pres
Kasich
Warner
It certainly is implied here that you felt he wasn't smart enough to finish college and, therefore, shouldn't be president.
Also, clean your own grammar up before getting on someone else.
Does it matter why he actually quit? Why? What if he lost interest, looked after sick family, toured the world, sat at home and played video games? What we are looking for is a candidate that has proven leadership skills and political savvy to get things done. I realize the Left doesn't put priority on these things. But is is crazy to try to tear down an extremely successful candidate with a petty issue like him not finishing college.

Yall keep pointing out the obvious and don't now how many times I have to say it. I never said u had to go to college to be a good president or successful.
Let me try this another way No would argue that u have to a repub or democrat to be a good president. But guess what there is - zero chance that the next pres will not be a dem or repub. whether yall like it or the next pres will have a college degree and the circumstances under which walker neglected to get his degree will preclude him from being president

It was a great comparison cuz whether u like it or not just as being a repub or democrat is a pre requisite to being pres, in the yr 2015 (not when they were wearing raccoon hats), so is being a college graduate. The liberal elite media will never stand for it They will mention the last prominent politicians who dropped out (rove and cheney). Look what they did to Bush and Palin.
I said walker wasn't smart enuff to finish college so he should be disqualified from consideration. I explained he ran for every office while at Marquette and once he got out so obviously he knew at a young age he was going to be a perennial politician. As detox pointed out , any person knowing that should have "the smarts" to realize he should have finished his degree. To me that speaks volumes about his judgment to quit that close. Also, the fact that he has been less than forthright about it supports this conclusion.
B4 accusing some1 of backing away at least get up on the facts. I have no problem w any1 being pres today w no college degree as long as the circumstances r legit. It's your liberal media who won't tolerate it. Also, I have yet to hear a legit explanation from walker as to why he still hasn't finished if he was as close as he claims.

The only people that will stress Walker dropped out of college are the people who wouldn't vote for him anyway...such as the Howard Deans and the Detox's.
When the left brings it up they must be hoping independents will say "I was considering voting for Walker but now that HOWARD DETOX has opened my eyes I will have to reconsider."

Yeah u mean how they didn't bring it up in relation to bush and palin. They added the ? "Who do u admire as a philosopher" to the debates in 2000 cuz they thought bush was too stupid to think of a philosopher ( he was but was able to throw out our savior from the hip). The liberal press is going to vilify him.

Yes, the liberal press will vilify him, but they were going to vilify him anyway. This is what they have to run with on Walker. If he beat up some dude in high school and shaved his head then that's what they would have run with. The liberal press has an agenda, just like the conservative press, although much smaller, has an agenda, and they will try to influence the election.
The conservative media will run stories about Hillary, such as her voting for the Iraq War, lying about sniper fire in Bosnia, saying she was dead broke when her and Bill left the White House, using a personal e-mail account for govt business which was illegal, and the Embassy in Benghazi being overrun by terrorists and then perpetuating a lie about a YouTube video.
The liberal media will say Scott Walker dropped out of college to work for the Red Cross.

Why do you say he wasn't smart enough? Did it look like he would've flunked out to you? Glad to see you don't think a candidate needs a degree though. Good to see you coming around. What was wrong with the circumstances? You never say?
Why should he go back and get it? He doesn't need it. There is no point. Most fair-minded people will see how successful he has been without it and judge him on his leadership and accomplishments. Same as colleg ball players leaving early to make money. College is there to get you into a career. Once you realize you don't need it to get into your career and make money---why waste more time in college?

Sure Liberals always want to portray Rep as dumb instead of looking at what they accomplish.
I am quite sure you aren't choosing candidates based on their favorite philosopher.

I haven't changed my position 1 bit u just don't seem to grasp it. I'll give it one last try. Obviously walker is smart Enuff to make it thru college cuz he made it to the last semester and then quit. U don't have to be smart to finish college. It takes commitment, determination, etc. employers don't require college degrees cuz of what u learned. It's because it demonstrates that u set a goal and then achieved it. U didn't quit. No employer would say that u can't succeed without a degree but if that's all they have to go on then they r going to take the kid who stuck it out
Again whether we like it or not in current times it is assumed a presidential candidate will have a college degree. Every1 since 1950 had it. Knowing this, and that he has been a perennial office runner since he was 14, walker made a conscious decision to quit rather than tough it out. Not very SMART. Further, he has not been forthright about the reasons he quit or how close he was to graduating. Why because he knows it's a sore spot w many voters. He should have known this at the time he quit. Again not very smart. Hence the conclusion Walker wasn't smart enough to finish college. Never said he didn't have the capability to do it or that u need it to be a good pres.

Very convoluted. You make it seem as if he had a devious reason? What do you think I was? Since he is not 'forthcoming' in your opinion. I'm not sure why he has to answer. The many voters that keep electing him don't seem to mind. Apparently just the media cares. Goodness gracious---they can't believe someone thinks something might be more important than college.
As for your comparison. It doesn't work because it isn't a univocal comparison.
President will be either Rep or Dem; president will either have a degree or will not have a degree. That is the way a comparison works if you want it to be on equal footing.
I do get your point. Most leaders in business, most politicians, most other advanced-jobs people all have degrees---so most likely he will have a degree. Just don't think it is necessary if you have proved you don't need it---and the voters so far feel the same way.
He is not my candidate, yet. So could really care less. I just jump on this for the same reason I do about people getting upset about ball players leaving school early. So what? They have reached their goal already. They got a job!
Also confused as to why you are typing like a teenager texting. But calling others out on grammar?

Well just agree to disagree. I could care less bout grammar I called them out because they referred to me as morons and stupid, yet made made a post that inherently contradicted their position. Devious reason r u serious. No he is defensive rationalizing some would say lied bout it. All the info is out there He's being defensive because possibly he realized it was not a smart decision. If he had not been a serial election runner or had been upfront from the start I would have cared less bout his decision not to finish. The liberal elites rnt going to let it go. Btw as a grandparent of 7 soon to be 8 I consider "texting like a teenager" to be a compliment
