MAGAs want a strong nanny state so fascism can wrap itself in the warm embrace of the flag and do whatever fascist dictators do, such as:

- burn books

- boost widespread lies through fascist, anti-American media (Fox, The First, NewsMax, EIB)

- interrupt the free market by controlling what businesses do or say 

- terminate inconvenient parts of the Constitution

- attack and undermine the criminal justice system when it seeks to fairly apply the law to everybody equally 

- allow the release of classified information to our enemies when convenient (Solar Winds suspects never caught or investigated by Trump)

- weaponize litigation statutes against their political enemies, such as the Texas abortion statutes and various anti-American free speech statutes being considered by red states 

- punish certain sectors of the economy with harebrained economic policies such as tariffs that simply raise cost for consumers

Personally, I found it more palatable to digest GOP politics before they told us it was illegal to play online poker or gamble online. Thanks Dubya and Frist!

Now Trump, DeSantis and Abbott are all doubling down on the nanny state politics. Disgusting!

Good post! To add one thing, I would even say they are pro-socialism - they want their government to control which businesses do well, and which ones do not. They literally want governmental aid to their donors’ businesses, and to destroy any business that doesn’t conform to their agenda. As a staunch capitalist, I find this to be idiotic and dangerous. 

Midnight1 has been chronicling instances where  republicans have been screaming bloody murder when federal Democrats provide free funding to help but only too happy to accept the gifts without a single word of gratitude.

I agree, if the GOP had never:

- made online gambling illegal thanks to Dubya/Frist I could have continued making bank on Pokerstars and FullTilt

- raised my fed income taxes in 2017 to subsidize failing red states 

- decimated our global intelligence agencies and public health ambassadors to maybe, idk, help foresee a global pandemic (good thing those never happen amirite)

- banned books about Hank Aaron and Roberto Clemente for any other reason besides being pro-racism

- promotion of “termination” of parts of the constitution 

- showing total opposition to free and fair elections, even after going 0/64 in lawsuits challenging said elections (you’d have to be a real idiot to believe or defend those lies at that point) 

Maybe the anti-democracy fascists can get back to us on whether they still want to attempt a coup or not. Right now, these godless cowards sound undecided!
