Winners and Losers

Don't be surprised if Megyn Kelly turns out to be the biggest loser in the debate ..I hear she's getting just hammered on Facebook the co-host of the debate .

Slim--I think the reason Megyn Kelly is getting hammered is that there was no balance to her questioning. She'd make a criticizing speech and throw a difficult challenge to one candidate and then throw softballs at someone else. If I had to guess, her motivation was her self-aggrandizing ambition. Crowley, on the other hand, was just an obvious Obama plant doing her part to ensure the president's re-election.
I also strongly disagree with the characterization of all of us and the candidates as losers. One can be a hater of Republican approaches, but I think there was a considerable amount of thoughtful, substantive answers and spirited debate. What is more uniquely American than having the guts to take a stand publicly on the issues of the day ? I enjoyed the discourse much more than I thought I would.

1129ken,both Megyn and Wallace's questions and follow-up questions sounded like they were going after Trump on a personal level..
If, the moderators were fair and balanced they wouldn't have started out with the hands question ..(which was meant to single out Trump and put him on the spot) Trumps toughest opponents last night weren’t the candidates but the Fox moderators..
What doesn’t destroy you, makes you stronger.

Well- time will tell-
She will get her chance to answer questions as well-
Thus far her answers to tough questions have come in the form of legal documents and via spokespersons-
I really hope Joe Biden runs- the Obama/Clinton war may turn out to be more entertaining than the GOP varsity tryouts...

I have always liked Joe Biden-
Not because I necessarily agree with all of his views, but he has always struck me as a good man- far from a polished politician (despite decades of experience), but one of the good guys....

You can be dismissive of all Republicans if that is what floats your boat, but I think you're mistaken to suggest that Hillary would have her way with some of these candidates. Remember, she got trounced in the primaries by a novice with the weakest resume in the history of presidential politics. Some of these Republican candidates performed quite well last night. Even if you favor Hillary, you can't possibly think she is an imposing force as a candidate. I said it here months ago and I'll say it again: I believe she is not going to be her party's nominee. Time will tell.

All we saw was basically same old, same old. A bunch professional politicians that the country has become tired of. Just because a person is a smooth talker doesn't mean they would make a good president. (See used car salesmen). We've been down this road before.
We saw the debate basically the same way.
Beyond the trump drama circus, it seas the same used car salesmen trying to sell the same thing.
The problem is tho that there is a base that will continue to buy what these used car salesmen are selling regardless of the buy a lemon.
You see them on here, the real sad ones that basically blindly agree with whatever the used car special is and then try to sell it to others thinking they are fooling people. But in reality the used car salesman routine is so obvious to so many that they end up looking like the only people that are buying what these used car salesmen are selling.

Slim--It will be interesting to see if Trump can become stronger or whether the moderator attacks of last night take the wind out of his sails. It sure seemed as though the Fox crowd wanted to do as much damage as they could to his candidacy. You could make a strong case for their wanting to get him out of the way so the Republican field could narrow without his imposing presence. Whether any of that is true or not, they went after him and, in my opinion, he didn't handle it well. I'm very curious to see whether the
new polls reflect that.

If we were looking for the champion of a high school debate team this would be relevant. We're looking for a leader that can get things done.

One could say,, that Joe Biden's plan to partitioning Iraq into 3 regions back in 2006 looks like a smarter and smarter plan today,, than what his boss has done to Iraq..

And what would have been your plan, with hind sight? Cause i know you did not believe Joe, no one did. I remember him touting it on the Sunday talk shows.I dont think he should run though, he should retire and enjoy life
I said "one could say " I'm not saying that I would say ....
You are right though ,I didn't agree with Biden's plan at the time and still don't...the reason is because after WWI..the British and the French drew up borders in the area already without regard for the wishes of the people living there..The political mess that Brits and French created, in the Middle-East ,in the aftermath of WWI remains today.
To dissect it further would make matters worse..The people in the area should be the one's deciding the division of their borders ...when people are forced to divide,, by an outside force they never accept the division e.i. North /South Korea ..East/West Germany.. the division of Palestine ..etc.
On the second point .. I believe Joe Biden should and will run for President. He's the core Democrats back up QB ,,and because the 1st string QB is headed to the bench for trying to use a deflated resume of accomplishments..He's their next best hope..
