Gladiators remember we're starting over. Everybody starts at zero. I will manually keep score and post the numbers after each day that games are played. I automatically installed an extra week to cover OT's if necessary so if their is an OT game that Battle will take place the following week. The other battles may proceed if the both opponents are finished with their Battles.

Mondo will take on Thedeakon in this Quarterfinal matchup! Mondo went 5-3 in Round 1 choosing to go the conservative route. Thedeakon was extremely active picking nearly every game and went 16-14-1 in the process.
Mondo is the former Champ and he is hell bent on getting the Crown back. Mondo has made it to the Quarterfinals in every Battle Forum so he is a proven Gladiator.
Thedeakon is fresh off his monthly wins contest on Covers and has kept the good vibes rolling here in the Battle Forum. There is no doubt that he is capable of hanging with Mondo.
This is going to be an exciting Quarterfinal matchup. Mondo can't afford to play the conservative route with a very active Thedeakon. Conversely Thedeakon can't afford to get reckless with a calculating Mondo monitoring his every move. It's going to be a chess match right in here the Battle Forum as these 2 Gladiators collide!

Love the write up and appreciate all the work you put into your write ups and building the hype it a great fresh approach, and keeps things fun, one point of exception: you mentioned that Mondo can't afford to play conservative vs the active Deakon. Quite conversely I feel that would be Mondos best approach. But we all hade different betting styles and I can appreciate the intricacies of most
Farewell to our slain gladiators and best of luck to those that live to fight another day

Thanks for the great write-up.Seeing as this is my first time I didn't know what to expect. Now I know and hopefully will play accordingly against Mondo.I might change strategies or not. Time will tell.Good luck to all.

Thanks for inviting me Smooth! It's a damn shame you aren't in the quarters with the amount of energy you expend on running this thing. I will be cheering exclusively for Atlanta from this point forward, but best of luck to all remaining Gladiators. I realize that I didn't put up much of a fight, but it was still a pleasure doing battle with you for a couple weeks.

Well said Pillsbury and thanks for the compliment. I'm simply going by the history of the head to head battles in the Battle Forum. For the most part the conservative approach hasn't worked because somebody always gets hot. But you never know. One thing about Mondo is he's very crafty. He won Battle Forum I with an incredible I can't remember exactly 17 positive days in a row. It was unreal. This will be one of the closet battles I feel. We will see.

Thanks for accepting the invite Brackson. We really appreciate you coming in. Hopefully you will be in future Battle Forum Tournaments. My history in the Battle Forum is one of heartbreak and devastating losses so I'm use to it.

These two Battle Forum Rookies will clash in this exciting matchup! Pillsburydough will try to keep it fresh as he entertains the Forum crowd with his dazzling baking skills. He better make sure he doesn't forget the secret ingredients because Hell's Bells will be playing for WBellhaven.
The Battle Forum is expecting a full capacity crowd as these Gladiator fans cheer their man on. WBellhaven fans already have a reputation as the rowdy bunch and we expect nothing short of a raucous crowd to cheer their favorite Gladiator on.
Pillsbury had an awesome first round with the 2nd highest percentage behind Atlanta. It was a tremendous display of power indeed. WBellhaven is nothing to sneeze at and brings energy to his battles. He's not afraid to make the hard picks and will surely be a difficult challenge.
We look forward to this Quarterfinal Matchup as the winner will advance to the Semis so we expect a spirited fight between these 2 Gladiators.

It's time to hide the women and children! Atlanta and Degosfinest are about to rumble. These Battle Forum vets are nothing nice. Atlanta has had dreams about beating Upset City since that loss in Battle Forum II. Well he can't get Upset City just yet so why not beat his Brother Degosfinest. But be careful what you wish for because many Gladiators believe Degosfinest is the tougher of the 2 siblings ala Serena Williams to use a Tennis analogy.
We are certainly going to find out as Degosfines is on a mission himself to wrestle the crown from his Brother Upset City. But before either of these Gladiators have their shot at the Champ they will have to go through each other to get there.
Atlanta is no doubt the hottest Gladiator in the tournament. He picked at a 70% clip in the First Round and started out 9-1. Atlanta was focused to get that #2 seed right behind the Champ. The man has a plan and he's executed it to perfection.
But the Battle Forum has plots and twists and things are never quite that easy. Enter Degosfinest with all his machismo and confidence. Degosfinest didn't miss a beat in the First Round. Despite the fact he had to work to make it to the Quarterfinals Degosfinest says it's all part of the plan. Degosfinest strongest attribute is his ability to close and he will need that to beat Atlanta.
Atlanta is on a roll right now similar to what Mondo did in Battle Forum I. Degosfinest will to have bring his "A" game to knock Atlanta off.
Oh the Battles that we will have in the Forum in the Quarterfinals has got the hair on my neck standing up! We can't wait!

If this matchup doesn't get you excited then you must be dead. The Champ has entered the Battle Forum. Don't let the quiet demeanor fool you. The man is a beast and that's why he's the Champ. But the Champ hasn't met the likes of DS0589 better known as the Vampire. NO Gladiator has had more comebacks than DS0589. It's just automatic at this point.
You simply can never count DS0589 out no matter what the score. He just finds a way to win. He has the true heart of a Gladiator. He has made it to the Quarterfinals in every Battle. Now DS0589 will have his best shot at immortality by defeating the Champ.
This wont be easy because you don't become the Champ by being soft. DS0589 will have to summon up all his Vampire powers to take down the Champ. Upset City on the other hand, well the name says it all. The man simply breaks dreams and puts Gladiators to sleep. He defeated the mighty Unstoppable Force who was hotter than a Columbian escort at a Secret Service party at the time. Upset City put him down like a mad dog. It was a thing of beauty.
So this Battle will be something to behold. Can Upset City take the next step in trying to Repeat as Champ or will DS0589 end his reign with a Vampire bite. It's like a Mexican soap opera in here. You just never know what's going to happen in the Battle Forum!

For our fans the leaderboard means nothing in the Battle Forum. We Battle head to head and I will manually post the score after each day! Be patient with me I'm a product of the San Diego School District and we weren't the sharpest tool in the shed.

We spent our days at the beach chasing beautiful Southern California girls and our weekends across the Border in Mexico before the Cartels took over. Great times South of the Border I can tell you that much. In those days you could drink in Mexico at age 18!

I couldn't drink or smell tequila for ten years after a Tijuana visit when I was 18!! Good times indeed...

You are right on target Smooth, it'll be just like in the movie "Troy". Hector couldn't fight Achilles, so he ended up fighting his cousin instead. Degosfinest appears to be a chatterbox, just like his brother, but maybe he'll slip and expose his Achilles Heel. Looking forward to another test in the second round
