How do you not like the Lions -1 here?

Even though it's preseason, you know the team wants to get out of the losing column.  Also, with a new coach, he'll want to start off right and build confidence with a win.

Surely the Lions win this one?

I was thinking Atlanta by 3 HOH but I'll hold off and check to see the line-ups and the QB rotations. Just don't know if the Lions can win SU vs a quality team like the Falcs.

You would think Detroit "should" win this game. But alot of people are going to have the same thoughts as HOH.
 
We will see. Like Jim said gotta wait and see how each coach plans on rotating his players.

In the Vegas newspaper sports section they have Lions +1 and the total at 35 1/2

I think I'm throwing money out the window here but I just can't bring myself to take the Lions giving points. I'll lose my money on the Falcons.

You should discard that comment right there. The Lions beat the Giants last year in the preseason So I dont know if you can look at quality of team when capping preseason

Earth to Coloneljim!  It's the pre-season!!!  Can't beat a quality team like the Falcons?  In the regular season, yeah, but it's not the regular season!

Lions giving away points.  Doesn't that ring any bells for you?  Wouldn't that make everyone jump on the Falcons?! 

Culpepper and Stafford fighting for a job and will look to light it up all game.  Schwartz wants a win to shake the 0-16, even if it's just preseason.  Plus, first-time head coaches love the first pre-season game and trying to get a victory.

Falcons may win, but odds are against it, the books know it and you are betting against a lot of solid trends and notions takin gthe Falcons here.

My thoughts exactly - didn't the Lions go 4-0 last pre-season, before running the table in reverse?!?!?! Lions & Raiders play at the highest level, when the games don't count!!! I now see that the line is up to +3 - Lions for me, thank you.

like the Over in this game you have to look at  the Defenses of each team they have not been able to stop anyone for the last how many years. Just like last night with the Jets/Rams historically they play terrible Defense. That is why I chose the under and won the other evening with the Baltimore game they play D

the way i see it,atl knows det will be trying to settle out their qb thing and be ready for some serious passing.stafford is still a rookie even though he has had a "STELLAR" camp so far he has'nt had any real pro game time,big difference there! yes det needs to get things going,and their pre record is very convincing to argue that they'll win/want this more blah,blah,blah.you'll never convince me not to take atl getting pts at det even if it's a no count pre game!going ATL/UNDER here.

I agree.  anyone...and I mean anyone...who disagrees...is a MORON.   take ATL -3 to cover.  I would say over under, but let me get this straight. you are worried about a team that just went 0-16 and still is suspect due to having Dante Culppeper as the starter is going to beat ATL?  yeah ******* right.
