anybody know the ATS record of Smith playing for the panthers??? that would be a good stat to check out....

0-2 teams ATS and SU usually do not go 0-3. I am taking Minn and I think they win by 14.

A change at qb could be a good thing to jump start this Minnesota team, but I would have preferred a better qb than old Gus to step in. It also worries me that Adrian is not at a 100% due to the fact that he is basically MInny's offense.

Carolina as of late has been coming from behind games to pull out the victory in the end. Steve Smith is returning for this game and it's not like he missed training camp so he should be ready for this match up with fresh legs to add help to this Carolina offense.

I'm leaning on Carolina final +3.5 due to their 2 come from behind victories I'm laying off the 1st half on them.

Lets look at some things here.  The line opened at -3 for the Vikings BEFORE Gus was named the starter.  After he was named the starter vegas stayed put with -3.  Then Peterson didn't practice on thursday and is listed as questionable for the game.  Again, vegas did nothing and kept the line at -3.
 
Why?  Well, Tavaris Jackson has literally done nothing with the offense, and has one of the worst (if not the worst) passer ratings in the NFL.  Having good ole Gus back there, surprisingly enough, is most likely a positive for this team.
 
As for Peterson being questionable, your forgetting that Taylor is still back there too.  I'll obviously admit that he's no Adrian Peterson, but the guy can run.  The year before Peterson showed up he was a 1200 yd rusher for the Vikings, and has averaged a shade over 4 ypc throughout his career.  He's no stranger to carrying the ball.
 
Also, despite the records of the two teams being complete opposites their performances thus far have been very similar.  Steve Smith does add another weapon for Carolina, but I would lean with the Vikings at home here.

With Smith back I don't believe Minny will be able to stack the box which should bode well for Panthers run-pass balance. Minny D will keep this low scoring and close...close is good.

Wrong team favored.  Take the ML panthers for payday.  Panthers showed SD they can stop the run, and force Gus to get out of his wheelchair and sling it 6 yds down field.  Panthers as road dogs have been covering machines in the past.

Peterson a bit banged, although i assume he'll play.  Berrian banged up, Frerrotte probably rusty.  On the other hand, Smith has had time to stay fresh by being off the field and Carolina is finding ways to win.  GL all but I'm going with Panthers here in what should be a low scoring game.

Goin with 2.5 units on Minnesota -3.5.......cuz it jus don't seem rite...there's no way that THIS Vikings team should be givin Carolina poiints here........weird line NON movement in this game too.....applyin a little of my kinda logic with a dash of Mannix here.......LOL.......this bet feels so wrong it's gots ta be right!

Pulled the trigger on Carolina right before kickoff. They have played solid lately. They are good as an underdog.
