Pittsburgh defense can be awful at times.  Troy Pal. is out.  This is a no-play for me, but if i had to play it would be Carolina.  Pitt is a schizo team.

Definitely leaning toward Car + 14.5.  Need to verify if Troy is out.  I saw the post about NFL Network but wondering if status might change.

Probably will lay off this game.  I just can't hang my hat on Jimmy Clausen.  I do expect Troy to not play tho, an achilles is not something to mess with.

I cant see the panthers scoring more than 10 points and thats me being generous... The steeler offense hasnt been there as of late but i think 28 to 10 sounds about right... give me pitt.. ill buy the points to bring it to 13 .. gl everyone

I am on Pitt -14 here.  We know the futility that Carolina brings, and I like this spot for several reasons.  As mentioned, above, Carolina off a rare win, Pitt off a tough loss.  Another angle, pointing to Pitt's schedule, Pitt has lost 2 times at home (Baltimore (14-17) and (NE 26-39), each followed by a home game (Cleveland then Oakland, respectively). Pitt blasted both and won by margins of 18 and 32, respectively.  Pitt is playing for a first round bye and Carolina is weaker than both Cleveland and Oakland.

Pitt -14 is the play here.

Pitts average win ratio against common opponents is +8.7, but they're giving up 14 1/2?  Carolina is so bad that Pitt could cover, but 14 1/5 is too much to play with confidence.

i'm thinking about a 12 point teaser here pitt -2.5 and under 49. and sd.st +9 and under 70 seems like a good bet to me but what do i know i'm down for the year....LOL i'm going with it..

something to thnk about pitt still playing for a opening- round bye and carolina playing for coach fox and 1st draft pk nxt year. Even with (TROY OUT) pitt. has been allowing  13 pts a game against teams like (NYJ, CINN, N @BALT).. What do u think they are going to happen to carolina that has being avg. offense last 3games 14.3 against teams like (ARZ,ATL n @SEA)    STILL DONT KNOW WHAT TO  LEAN ON BUT MY BET RITE NOW WILL BE THE UNDER -37.5 CUZ PITT OFFENSE IN THAT SAME STRENCH HAS BEING AVG ONLY 17.7PTS VS CAR. DEFF ALOWING 24.7

Steelers will win, but I doubt the cover of 14.5. My play is Steelers -7.5 combined with Navy +10.0 on a 7pt tease.

THE THING ABOUT IT IS THAT CLAUSEN JUST REALLY SUCKS ASS AND IS ABSOLUTELY NO MATCH FOR PITT WITH OR WITHOUT POLAMALU. DONT REALLY LIKE THE HOOK...WOULD BUY THAT BACK PROB.  PLUS THE SHORT WEEK I AM SURE WILL ONLY HELP PITTS ADVANTAGE IN THIS GAME.

Steelers average score this year is 21.9 per game.....they give up 15 per game......Carolina allows 25 and scores 13.....and have covered last 4 in a row.......They are running the ball much better now.....double digit favs are 7-10 this year.  If Clausen hits one or two deep balls, it might be enough to cover tonight, and that's the one thing he does pretty decent, if he has the time......might be a good game to play small on the dog.  Same in the college game.  The favs are 4-1 in the bowls so far and the fav players will be out in force tonight......this might be a books night with the dogs.  Navy is 5-1 ATS the last 6 bowl games also.  I'm not saying, I'm just sayin!?!?!?

Just feel more comfortable taking the Steelers who are playing their third straight game at home. Which by the way is their final home game of the season. Win the next two and the Steelers clinch the AFC North which will == the two seed in the playoffs. I wouldn't bet against them.

for some reason i just really feel like this game could be 20-9 steelers or so....pitts defense is without troy, their offense has been struggling, they both want to run the ball, its windy and snowing.....

im not saying carolina wins this game by any means, and they could lose 31-7 but the short week can only favor them...pitt is older and beat up

Double digit road dogs are 6-3 ats this year. Pitt is 2-6 ats against double digit dogs the past three years. I think carolina is garbage but i like money better. Car and over for the small!
