Staying away from this one, Carr should be able to contain calvin johnson a little but the key factor is whether they can contain bush...dallas has horrible cover linebackers, and unless they put scandrick on bush i think he goes haywire on us.

Happy Thanksgiving oh that's right it's a month away. It's just when I see these two teams I could see a big juicy turkey sitting in front of me. Since Detroit normally loses on Thanksgiving maybe they win here.

Colonel - they don't play each other on Turkey Day!!! How much shrapnel is still lodged in your brain from Vietnam???
Anyways, your score is ludicrous - bookies know it, I know it, and now, you know it.... This game is a FG either way, so tease, baby, tease.......
As always, good luck..............

I'm with the Colonel on this one. Back-to-back road games for Dallas, back-to-back home games for Detroit, Detroit coming off a close loss, Dallas coming off an ugly win, Detroit is going into the bye next week & losing 2 straight at home into the bye week equals a rough week off with the not-so-friendly Jim Shwartz.
I am having a vision of Tony Romo cringing in pain from some type of excessive rib shot from Ndamukong Suh.
Taking the small price on the Lions.
Dallas 20
Detroit 28

Cowboys +3 , Romo playing well - very good in fact , they still have a good passing game. Dez Bryant is a top WR, Their new rookie RB will get the job done. Defense is good too , held opp to 3 points last week. No one likes the Boys huh ?

Sam you have a knack of putting things into perspective. That's just what I wanted to say but I got off track thinking about eating a drumstick.

Horrible coverage LB's??? Lee and Carter? Guess you saw the SD and Denver games when the coverage schemes being played had no business matching up against those offense. Lee and Carter are well-known as excellent coverage LB's...both in college and pro up until this season.
Did they all of the sudden become terrible at it? Not a chance, Kiffin had them covering more ground than most LB's could even remotely attempt. Yeah, Bruce Carter was beat on a 40-yard wheel route by the 4.3 40-yard Danny Woodhead, and he was in his back pocket just missing the ball deflection. I'd love to see 95% of NFL LB's try to cover that...would be embarrassing.
Once Kiffin made the adjustment in coverage schemes, played the CB's more man up, and let Lee cover his man or medium zones like almost all other NFL defenses do, the Skins and Eagles didn't do jack from the backfield or TE routes. Lee shut LeSean McCoy down out of the backfield and made him a non-factor...6 catches for 26 yards. Meaning he was on him like glue when he caught it. And yes, McCoy is a huge weapon receiving...21 for 267 on the year.
The defensive coverage schemes were inadequate for what they were facing, not the LB coverage. Stop reading knee-jerk media stories written by band majors who never played the sport.
As for the game, I'm going with Detroit. Dallas played 3 straight with enormous effort (Denver tough loss, and 2 big divisional wins). Can't see them sustaining that hard effort for another week, especially with the injuries and now safety Wilcox out. He was needed in this one for his sure and hard tackling to help with the many targets they use in the RB and TE spots. Just these 2 positions combined have 88 of Det's 178 catches. Just under 50% is a huge number for these positions. Wilcox will be sorely missed. Jeff Heath is somewhat talented but VERY raw. He wasn't even in top 3 players at this position in Week 1. It's a big downgrade facing this type offense...spread you all over like Denver and SD effectively did to Dallas.
Detroit and over is play here. Probably buy it down to 2.5 when taking Det.

Detroit -3...too many injuries for Dallas, playing 2nd on the road after 2 consecutive division games. Probably high scoring.
Must add that 2 of Dallas' 3 losses come against QBs that get rid of the ball quickly (SD & DEN). Now they face the guy who gets rid of it the quickest.

But, after reading this thread, DET is the clear play. Glad Vue is on DAL, but it worries me seeing colonel and sammyace backing DET. And then reading the posts from the other DAL backers.. well, enough said.
Detroit is my pick, but hopefully the teaser pulls through.
