Lions +12.5 (2 units) and ML +500 (1 unit) vs. Bears - mainly taking a flier on the Lions today since I've been on a hot streak.  The NFC North is always good for a division upset twice a year and so far it hasn't happened.  These teams have already faced each other in Detroit with the Bears winning 34-7 (I believe I took the Lions then as well).  This spread is a huge one to cover, even if one team is winless, and the other has a strong defense with emerging offense.  Not going too big here, just a few units to keep it interesting and hopefully feed off my strong picks recently.  Keep in mind these teams haven't split a season series in at least the last 4 years.

I do like the Lions here.  They played pretty well last week.  Bottom line is in the NFL......try to take the points when the chalk is this much.

I think the Lions play tough here knowing they've got Culpepper on his way to help them try to win more games.
Plus the only double digit spread that I think the favorite has covered this year was the Giants vs. 49ers -11.

Correct - Culpeper did sign - my original play was Chicago and will likely be increased as the Lions as usual are a psychological mess, on the road to boot.

i'm on the lions.  double digit dogs are something like 16-1 ATS this season. 
 
PERFECT LET DOWN SPOT FOR THE BEARS!
 
the bears come off the bye week, but have undefeated tennessee coming in next week.
 
can they get up for this game or will they be looking ahead to next week? 
 
plus, i think the signing of culpepper will put pressure on orlavsky (sp?) to perform and he may have his best day yet.

i dont think the lions will win, but you've got to be crazy to be laying that kind of juice......in any sport.

The worst part about it is I do it a lot.  I had Missouri at -870 at Baylor and they won by 3 points.  But then Boise State at -1000 won 49-0.
