When you play a team like Jacksonville- you're really gambling. I've had fairly good success with this awful team this season. Last week I advised on playing the Jags. I was regarded as crazy and a fool. They covered! Unfortunately, (again!), the Lions are struggling in the bottom tier of the NFC North Division. And they haven't shown ,that they're playing anywhere close to the level of the Bears,Vikings, or Packers. Since their bye week, the Jags have been going all out to win a game. They are so desparate, they suited up an injured Gabbert to continue as QB. I'm taking some of my winnings and wheeling right back with them.

Even though I overpaid for Rashard Jennings and MJD in my fantasy league, I still have zero faith in this team. They're not getting 16 points this week.....even if the Jags are at home this time, I think the Lions cover the small number and put things together for a game.
Lions minus anything less than a touchdown.

detroit finalley got things put together in the 2nd half of the carolina game, this game is going to get ugly/ detroit-42-jacksonvill-16.
I agree with you, only the game you are referring to was against Seattle. The Lions moved the ball effectively against one of the better defenses in the league. I think that was a huge confidence builder for Stafford, and I think that positive momentum will carry over into this week. My inner wise guy hates laying points on the road, but sometimes you just have to put on your joe public manties and bet against the house.
I am starting to notice a very clear trend with this Jacksonville team, and that is....they suck at home! In their last three home games against Houston, Cincy, and Chicago, they have been outscored 95-20!! (houston 27-7, cincy 27-10, chicago 41-3). Meanwhile, on the road: they have covered their last 2 at Oakland and Green Bay.
I think Detroit's offense may have finally gotten out of their funk, and I think they take care of business on the road and get back to .500.

Another dumb comment from the Vue. Wiseguys all on Detroit. Ask Adam Meyer & Kelly Hudson. Both got Lions for the contest at Cantor Gaming. These guys bet $100k-$300k per game. Not $22 a game that Vue bets on every game.

The Lions are desperate and Jacksonville sucks. The Lions win and cover... they are going to put some serious points on the board in this one... But they still can't play defense, so Jacksonville will be able to put 17-24 on the board also.

Calvin Johnson has missed practise for the 3rd day now. He has a banged up naggin knee and he's questionable for sunday's tilt. This will surely make things harder for Stafford if he can't go. Even so,still takin the Jags 2 cover n possibly win this.
Stay tuned!!

ah... here we agree. and like you, i had to contend with the instincts of my inner wise guy, which wanted me to look at the jags here, but fact of the matter is that they are off two solid road efforts/covers and have their few backers thinking they are playing well and about to make an ATS run. Nevertheless, I think those two covers make them prime fading material.
Wise guys feel like the lions are underperforming their peripherals and that makes them a good look here as they have gotten things going better. last week was staffords best game of the year and the lions FINALLY got another receiver going with titus young. The book on the lions this year has been to bracket megatron and detroit hasn't overcome it. The injury to burleson was probably a blessing in disguise though as titus young and ryan broyles have worlds of talent to step up here and the run game should keep enough balance against a poor defense. Meanwhile, detroit's defense has actually been improved this year, especially against the run, just as they have also had more success running the ball this year.
my feel here is that the window to fade the lions on the road and as favorites has closed and that their play over their last 3 games (3 covers) is on the up and up and they are set to rattle off a cover/win streak. of all the 3.5 lines, this is the one that has vegas taking the strongest stance in support of the public, moving the line from 3.5 all the way up to 5. I popped it at 4.

The Detroit backers are betting Detroit like there is no tomorrow.
Wherever we look Detroit is among the top choices this week both SU and
ATS. Some of the biggest survivor pools have Detroit as one of their top
consensus picks right after big favorites SD, GB and HOU. This is a
huge trap. Detroit will lose in Jacksonville today. Road favorites of
t-down or < are 1-20 ATS if they trailed both at the half and after
the third quarter and still won last Sunday. Guys, take Jacksonville
Jaguars +5 !!!

really jags over detroit??? i can understand if jags have like a two td point spread but four points isn't much for a team that can't score that much.. i will take my chances on the lions bol to all
