Seems like the perfect game to rig for Detroit....since Detroit sucks so much and the public still hasn't caught on, they want to keep Detroit looking "Worthwhile" for a bet, by allowing them to beat Philly. I hope not, I decided not to overthink, I put Philly in my original parlay. But left them out of many teasers, just because of that gut feeling. Everything on paper says Philly should cover.
Well I'm glad you made money on them last year!... a lot of people lost big on the Eagles last year. Being a Philly guy, I've learned to be extra cautious with them. Last year the Eagles were 8-8, 8-8 ATS, 3-5 ATS at home, 5-3 ATS away, 6-7ATS fav, and 2-1 ATS dog. Last year was a crazy year. You must have bet against them in the first half of last year and for them in their last 8 games or so.
Oh, and Reid is 7-8 in games the week before the bye. It might be a useless stat, it might not... It is what it is.
My gut is telling me that if I do bet the Eagles, only do it on a Teaser or Super Teaser.
This year the Eagles have helped me out with their wins over the Giants and Ravens... I bet them to lose ATS and they did. I've stayed away from then in all other games. Since the team is so close to my heart, I've kinda learned what games are safe and which ones aren't with them. It just seems that Vick has regressed this year, and he is honestly too small to play in the NFL. He sure won't play in all 16, he's only done that once in his career when he was with the Falcons. We here in Philly are holding out breath each game. We know it is inevitable he gets hurt, the only question is in which game?
The other weird thing is that I think that his backup, Foles is the real deal. Foles was a stud in High School. He went to the same High School as Brees and he shattered all Brees's records. He was exceptional at Arizona in college too, but he had nothing surrounding him. So I'm almost hoping Vick gets hurt (being an Eagles fan) because I do not think Vick is good enough to win a Super Bowl.
MGM, random question here, but was betting the NFL last year crazy for you? It was for me.
Last year was a bad yr for me... In 2010 (my first year of betting) I ended the year up $5148 and it should have been a lot more. I threw some money away late in the season, I think I was up over $8000 at one point. Then last year in 2011 I only ended the year up $1283. I was a lot braver than my first year with my bets. Instead of putting down $100-$200 a week I was putting $500-$600 a week. At one point I was down almost $4000... I would have ended the year down, but towards the end of the year I just rode the Saints and mixed in other teams on my Parlays and I was able to save face.
