Okay guys initially this game seemed as a no brainer, Pats and Pats big but, I come across a nugget that I cant hardly believe, The Pats are 0-6 in the playoffs when facing teams that they previously beat in the regular season. WHAT?? Is that even true? I have no way of verifying this aside from tracing back the previous 6 playoff losses and the teams faced that year, far too much work for a team I'm already locked into, but for those still undecided its a molly whooper of a trend!!
I think they are 1-6 although I have not researched this. Pats beat Denver last year reg. season and beat them again in the playoffs. Still.............this is a trend that must be considered.

so where exactly did you come across this incorrect "nugget"??
last yr in week 15 they destroyed the Broncos in Denver.....41-23
a couple weeks later, in the 2nd round of the playoffs the beat them down even worse 45-10
don't be a clown and spread misinformation....
far too much work to research you say? i went back 1 yr.....took about 4 minutes

AUTO-FADING Texans. Schaub vs. Brady in a big game... Don't over think this. NEXT.
What about Manning vs Flacco in a big game? The 1-8 ATS last 9 in playoffs scares me too. I think NE wins, 1 big upset in playoffs is already done, but I'm leaning strong on taking the points Over thinking, I guess

Lot of emotion betting going on on this thread...worst mistake possible. Pick the most likely winner not who you want to win.
That being said, reg season blowouts are poor indicators of rematch outcomes. Yes, some are duplicated, but the majority are much closer if not a different winner. Happens constantly within divisions as every team plays 3 teams twice a year.
The playoffs are whole different beast. Houston was riding high feeling invincible leading the NFL when they walked into Foxboro. And a pumped up NE team looking to show them who the defending AFC champ really is slammed their behind. Was a case of 2 teams in completely different modes at that point.
While I do feel the Pats will win with the Gronk element joining the fold this time. I also know Houston will bring their "A" after the immense disrespect that thrashing caused them. They do have very talented players and a balanced offense...the Pats struggle on defense some.
Should be a much closer game yet Pats take it at home 31-27

I'm leaning on the Pat -9.5 and over 48.5.. Gonna wait and see how the ATL game plays out. Had a good day yesterday had Baltimore on the money. Bets so far today.
ATL -3
Then a 3 team parlay. ATL -3, ATL under 46, and Pats over 49.. Good luck to everyone..

Moral of the story is...if you're betting on how a team was badly dominated in the prior meeting, you are likely missing the big picture. This is the NFL, it happens, but you rarely embarrass a team twice in a row on national TV.
If you like the Pats for the right reasons, go for it, but don't bet it looking at the first game and it's huge blowout. The Pats aren't as fiery and good as they looked in that game, and the Texans aren't as flat and bad as they looked. The truth is more towards the middle.

Just remember 2010-11....
Pats lost at Jets by 14
Pats won vs Jets by 42
Pats lost vs Jets by 7

Just checked that
Last 6, win in Reg Season, meet in playoffs. 3-3 SU, 2-4 ATS Last season beat Den 41-23 during regular season, beat them 45-10 in playoffs. Just saying... Still leaning Houston

If you wager by quarters....my book will give you Texans +3 in 1st qtr. Texans +3 second quarter Texans +0.5 in 3rd and Texans +0.5 in 4th. What do you suppose this is saying? The total when points added is Houston +7 for the game yet the line is +10 now? Isn't that kinda backwards?
Because when ateam covers a 9.5-pt spread, then don't do so by scoring +3 every quarter in most cases. They do so by do a +14 quarter for example, a plus +10 quarter, then maybe lose a quarter, etc.
Nothing fishy there.

Not
rigged…I’ve been quoted on Covers at
least 20 times over the years to never lay double digit chalk with Tommy
Terrific…Him, Payton Manning, Flacco,
BIG Ben are notorious point shavers…However, this is the playoffs…Nobody is fuxking around now…
I'm still smarting from that ML loss vs Cards early in the season. -750 ouch. I do agree with your view however...Pats -9.5.

Very well said! Unlike the Patriots are accustomed to blowing out opponents during the season, they usually "barely" get by in the playoffs. Pats by 10-12 pts.
NEW ENGLAND - 9.5
