I'm not saying that the Jets can't cover here, but I can't get myself to bet on a team that is in shambles.

I'd rather say to myself "Houston should have covered that game" than "why the HELLLL did I bet on the Jets" hahah

LMBAO I feel u bro but look at it like this... Vegas lost yesterday especially with the 4pm games because just about all d favs covered. Then they ended the nite by giving u a treat with NEW orleans who covered as well and all the $ was on new orleans. Now if u think they gonna give u dis with this being the only game on tv(football wise) ur sadly mistaken. Take d jets bro so u wont be saying... DAM Blackjay told me to take d jets! LOL!

WOW....I can't believe Joe Public is falling for all this....seriously -9 Houston? 

A couple of times each year a line is posted that just makes zero sense...this is one of those times.  I have already dropped major cash on the Jets ( +9.5 on Friday ) so I have no vested interest in what I'm about to say...... 

DON'T BE A FOOL AND GIVE IT AWAY !!!

I understand all the interest in the Houston Texans being 4-0 but have you really looked at their record.  The total combined record of the teams they have beat is 6-14.  I can give you hundreds of stats to sway your wager to NY but I'm only going to give one key stat...

The odds of a team going 5-0 and covering the spread on the road is 18%....think about it.....18 % !!!!

All my research points in the same direction...too much respect for Houston and very little for NY.  I know the Jets have had their issues but to cover +9.5 means everything must go right for Houston and bad for NY...can't see it happening.  

Finally, as a person who does this for a living...this is my gift to you.  STOP listening to all the Houston hype.  The NY Jets are still a good football team even with a few injuries and Houston is playing over their heads...remember 6-14. 

Monday night, everyone watching, Jets hungry...can't see Houston winning by 9+.  EZ pick boys, you can thank me in the morning

BlackJay:  I like your thinking....its another element of capping games. Just not looking at favorites and that they should win because they have the best players and the best team.  Its not always about that....Vegas does not stay in business because public chooses the best team.....Vegas stays in business because they win on the improbable.....Yes,  I have to agree Jets are horrible and they are in shambles.  Picking Jets(the improbable).

LOL.  I will be saying that now if they cover.  But, I am feeling good about the parlay I hit last taking the Saints and the Over, so I'm either going to take Texans for a small/med bet or just  and let everone else sweat it out.  I haven't gotten a good nights sleep on a Monday/Thursday night in a while anway.....hahah

Logically or sensiblilly pick would be Houston Texas - 8.5 points ---People! this is Statement Game for Houston!!! - They are for Real this season --IN fact, they will be ready and beat Green Bay Packers next week at home as week!

Could be a VEGAS set up but if not Houston and SF have the best defenses in the NFL.......Houston solid running game and good QB ........Jets with out Revis drops the defense down a good bit.......Sanchez reminds me of Jake Delhome......but he is worse.

If this were a Sunday game, I'd be all over the Texans.  But wierd things happen n MNF.  I wouldn't surprised to see the Jets bring out Freddy Krueger at safety and Jason at nose.

The more I read on this thread, the more tempted I am to take Houston -9.5. All the jets rooters are speculating while all the Houston rooters are using facts. You are using MNF record to decide your bet on a team that has changed to top-ranked in NFL. All I see are words like god and Vegas fools you. Come on guys.. Vegas uses stats to decide the spread. I will take facts over speculations anytime in sport or reality. And the fact is the Texans has been proving that they are solid and should be ranked #1 right now.

Who did Houston beat? MIA, JAC, DEN & TEN all teams with losing records. Jets are 2-2 vs better competition. Jets plus the points with TEBOW. Sanchez loses and may not cover

If Jets win... It'll be damn close and a low scoring affair because their offense and special teams aren't very good. It will be because their defense steps up. With both defenses that are good and Texans that are primarily run, I'll take the under as well. Therefore, bet one will be:

Jets ML +350 and under 40.5 = 1 unit to win 7.56 units

If Texans win, it'll be a blowout where they take the crowd out of the game and we all know how Jets fans are... they'll start booing their own team. Texans in a blowout. Bet:

Texans - 9 for two units.

Obviously the Texans could barely cover but the spreads are so high that the bookmakers are predicting a blowout. So, I cover the blowout but if the Jets win + the conditions I describe come into play, I win a lot more. Anyway, BOL

I like the Jets keeping it close... in the first half! haha..

Emotions, bounce back game on National TV, lights, MNF. They play good tight ball in the first half and then just kinda fizzle away in the second.. ie 49ers game.

The Jets completely laid down after the first score of the 2nd half in the 9ers game plus that early INT and you know what the outcome to that was BUT for the most part it was 7-0 the first half and a last minute FG to make it 10-0  maybe 13-0 but missed a FG. But they only had themselves to blame for those, 2 fumbles ..the TD the 9ers and Smith had a nice put together drive with great playcalling. So most will probably be tainted of what happen last week and only look at the final score but all games they come out full steam ahead but lose it quick come second half.

I will take the Jets with a week to regroup, coaches emphasizing about "taking care of the ball", turnovers killed them. Jets 1st half for me in a close one, second halfffff hmmm not so much :)
