Hello all! I suppose its time to throw my hat in this "handicapping" arena. I have been lurking in the shadows throughout the season reading these comments trying to determine who knows their garbage and have come to the conclusion that I can guess too! So here it goes....

Okay this game is tricky if the spread is around 3-5, at 7 now its a no brainer in my mind. Ray Lewis's last second attempt at "inspiring" his team is a display of weakness and doubt. He knows they are in trouble. Ravens played outright horrible down the stretch and like the Texans wont be able to just turn it on when needed. I'll take the colts with anything over 3 points, 7 is just ridiculous...and perplexing? I'll stick with my gut though and say Indy covers.

Andrew Luck's record on the road is unimpressive, and I can't see the Ravens coming out flat in this one.

That Baltimore stadium is going to be LOUUUUD

Not easy for a Rookie QB who tends to throw INT's in big games....

This fool is laying 6.5 iwth the Ravens against a rookie qb on the road, in a hostile homefield advantage (i've been to that stadium it gets loud) with a hall of famer's last dance, after defense rested starters, with a new O-coordinator without alot of film on him, while the public is all over Luck/RG3 train, with Ray Rice and his historical success vs. the Ravens,  and while everyone is forgetting about the Ravens....

The Ravens could win the AFC....  If you think about it practically, why not?  They have been in the championship game the last 2 years, don't have to worry about losing to Big Ben in a big game, and they are the only team to not get blown out by the Pats, in fact they beat the Pats.....  The only team in my opinion standing in the way vs. Balt is Manning and the Broncos.....

The AFC is wide open this year.... I just don't see the Bengals or Colts fitting in with the elite teams.... I feel the same about Houston althought I do believe they advnace this week...

Ed Reed has 16 games of film to scout Luck, and he will pick him off at least once in this game.

Luck has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns on the road. Plus the Colts are the only team in NFL history to go 11-5 & be out scored on the season. Colts are a much better home team. Ravens -7 & the over

Guys,I have to be honest here.

I know the Colts don't play in the Toughest division in the AFC,but

I am shocked the the Colts ended the season at 11-5

Even more stunning,is they were 11-5 ATS.

They have a non-existent run game,and are ranked 26th defensively

in the league.

There offense is based solely on a rookie QB

It is just amazing what they have accomplished this season.

The Ravens started out there first 11 games 9-2,and have slumped

bigtime in their last 5 games,winning once.

If you handicap this games soley on who has the hot hand,you would

have to take the Colts with the points.

I mean they have come this far after 16 games,so I see no reason

why they couldn't win 1 more under the circumstances.

Taking the Colts plus the points.

I'm not seeing the Ravens as much of a power house.Of their last 10 they've lost 5 while beating the NYG,San Diego,Oakland,Cleveland,and a Ben-less Pittsburgh.This doesn't seem like a team that should be laying 7 in a playoff game.

Why won't the Ravens win the AFC???? Because their defense is a weak shell of its former self, and they have lost 4 of the last five: two of those games to current AFC playoff teams.  They got beat down by Denver at home, and will have to win two road games if they get by the Colts.

just sayin the experts here picked Vikings 68%

Baltimore beat the pats early in the year but that was during the ref controversy I think... fluko at home and the rays will dominate.

Only thing I'm worried about is how good Luck has become (as a rookie) and the inspiration they play with whether their coach was in the hospital or now on the sidelines.  

Again, when majority of the public jumps all over the team with big points on the road...they are usually wrong.  Just a theory of mine.

Still thinking on this as I like to see the line movement till kickoff, but I would think this is a similar situation as the packers game.

First of all, the folks who keep talking about how great the Ravens are at home must have missed the thumping Denver gave them last month and the one they lost to Charlie Batch two weeks earlier. Can the Colts win this game? Absolutely. It is the National Fixed League after all and stranger things have happened. The Colts traveling to Denver would certainly make for a better story than the replay of that Denver/Baltimore beat down. And if Batch can win in Baltimore, a sharp Luck could do it as well. However don't expect a very sharp Andrew Luck here...

As a fan of Indy since they snuck out of Baltimore in 1984 allow me to give my take on this.

 First, the Colts and Luck have overachieved this year much to my delight. Luck has impressed me and shows great potential, but is a rookie who makes a lot of rookie mistakes. After 13 games he was leading the league in turnovers. He really struggled on the road as did the Colts as a team. They won 4 games on the road against 2-14 KC, 2-14 Jax, 4-12 Det and 6 -10 Ten. That was 4 wins against teams with a combined 14-50 record. They needed OT to beat the Titans. They gave up a ton of points on the road, not just to the mighty Pats,  but 41 to the Bears, 33 to the Lions and 35 to the Jets. The Colts 'D' is horrendous, especially on the road and will be a shot in the arm to the Ravens. If you can play over 26.5 on the Ravens team total, snag it up. Expect the Ravens to score 35-40 points. 

Even after all these years, the Colts are still despised in Baltimore. Andrew Luck will find himself in a very hostile environment and will almost certainly choke under this pressure of a fired up defense combined with a very loud crowd. Look for at least 3 turnovers leading to some easy Ravens points. 

I know the Colts are the trendy pick and I'd love to see them win but I'll bet with my head instead of my heart.

you are going to be surprised to see how wrong this statement is... it's a two-horse race, and only barely a two-horse race...

NFC is much more wide-open than the AFC... 49ers, Seahawks, Packers, Redskins... all viable reps for the NFC in the Super Bowl...
