Houston is 0-3 ATS the last three at home and the defense
can not be trusted, allowing nearly 27 points per game.

Bob Mcnair (Texans owner) has been all over local TV talking about what a great opportunity this is for Texans and the city of Houston.  You can bet Texans are going to do their best to put on a hell of a performance.  Texans will definitely cover 3 and I am leaning pretty hard on the over as well.

    Wrong stat:
    Houston beat Cinci 35-6 on 10/26 as a 9 points home favor
    Houston is 1-4 ATS last 5 home game & 3-2 SU

    It is worth consider Houston is the line is (3) since Houston is 3-2 SU at home. But they are both sucks!

    It is hard to pick a winner for this game since neither team is playing for a playoff spot

    Slight edge to Houston since they are playing on MNF for the first time at home.
    The first and greatest victory is to conquer self

    If everyone keeps going on the OVER, I look for the number to climb by kick-off. If it gets to 49 or greater, I am on the under.

    Does anyone know the status of the QB's?  I love all this talk about "Houston will cover", "J'ville will cover", without solid handicapping reasons.  There are a few pertinent angles discussed (first Monday night game, bad Houston run D, MNF 11-1 over), but most people just list there pick without any further comment, what good is that?  One angle you might want to start with is "who is playing and how healthy they are".  Not a single mention of player status in this entire thread???

    Both teams are really beat up here. But I'll take Garrard and the Jags over Rosenfels and the Texans. Both teams have underachieved this year but I still think Jacksonville is the better team. Gotta take the over too.

    Both teams are beat up and really have nothing to play for other than being in the National spotlight and this being the Texans first MNF.    Just remember during the season.    Jacksonville lost to Cincinnati  19-21  and Houston beat Cincinnati   35-6.
    Also  Jacksonville lost to Cleveland  17-23 at home and Houston beat Cleveland  16-6 last week in the Dog Pound, (Which is not what it has been in the past) but a win is a win.
     
    Both are 4-7 and have no defense and I wouldn't bet a dime on Garrard.   He reminds me a lot of J. Russell of Oakland and I remember him from yesterday.      This is just my opionion and my money is on Houston tonight.

    I think the dog and over is the MNF trend here. I laid the 3 with the Raiders yesterday. Put me at 2-1. Had the 'Niners and the Vikes. It seems that home favorites with a loseing record is not the way to go. When they get behind the crowd (if there is one) gets in thier head.

    Looking at the off stats for Hou I ask,
    Why are they nearly the best in yds/gm and only #23 in pts/gm?
    Do they kick lots of FGs? No, way down at #24
    Answer is they lead the league in INT. They turn over the ball after getting lots of yds passing.

    Matt Schwab might suitup tonight after injuring his L knee in Minn gm. He has been out the last 3 games where Sage Rosenfels has thrown 7 ints in 3 games (4 vs Bal) ouch! Rosenfels has only 2 td passes in 3 games, also had a fumble in Cinn, pass rating like 79

    Also the pt/gm avg for Hou with S Rosenfels at QB is down to 18.6tpt/gm

    Last time they went to OT and Jac won. (M Schwab had 0 int and had a great game, with S Rosenfels it will be worse for Hou)

    Hou QB situation combined with their bad Def make Jac my pick

    Taking JAC +3  for big, and ML +140 for med

    This is the first time that the Houston Texans have hosted a Monday Night Football game in the history of the franchise, so look for an inspired effort here vs. a Jacksonville Jaguars team that appears to be just going through the motions at this point.
