That's a helluva first post on Covers.  I've been a diehard Chiefs fan since I could walk and I agree 1000% with everything he said.

The Chiefs currently have 7 legitmate NFL starters IMO.  LJ, Waters, Bowe, and Gonzalez on offense and Dorsey, Boone, and Derrick Johnson on D.  Everyone else is strictly potential (Albert, Flowers, etc.)  Hell, even Dorsey.  Or too old (Edwards, Surtain, etc.)  They are not going to be able to stop anyone this season or score any points.  The season has 2-14 written all over it.  While NE is loaded at basically every position and will be as hungry as ever.  I just can't see any way this game will be close.

i don't even know his name without looking it up.... but i do remember he did not throw 1 td pass in preseason...
 
herm is gonna run.... pats are gonna stop the run.... and then brady is going to have a field day with that secondary... they are putting up 34 points i guarentee it

Good points. I expect the Pats to go back to fundamental Pats football which means they are a scary elite professional team, against this chiefs team, that hurts. NE pounds em not even doing what they did last year. It's a statement game for every club. I'm sure the Pats will be happy to put up a score worth talking about.

Somebody had posted that the last 7 years Superbowl winner is 7-0 ATS for opening game. 8-0 with Giants cover!! Also Super Bowl loser is 0-10 ATS!

i must say... i disregard about 95% of all trends, because they are meaningless and useless... misleading, if anything...

but that is one impressive trend right there...

This game has been beating me up all week, simply because I cannot shake the feeling that we are going to see the Patriots of 2002 and 2004 a lot more this season.  Run the ball, control the game, shut teams down on the defensive side of the ball, and win by 10 points.  I also can't shake the idea that the Chiefs lost their major defensive players in Ty Law and Jared Allen.  This is without a doubt a rebuilding year for the Chiefs, and shouldn't be able to put up much of a fight. 

What I've basically come up with is that the Pats are going to flex a little bit of muscle early on, show KC who's boss, and then run the ball a lot in the 2nd half, and cruise in for the win.  Brady is finally not on the injury report, and I'm sure the foot/ankle/toe/whatever injury is more than fine.  I'm looking for Maroney to have a huge game in this one against the weak Chiefs defense.

Nothing lasts forever and look for the Pats to take this one too lightly.  The Chiefs got nothing to lose and will give this one their best effort.
