dophins with the point possible a str8 up win along with the under. This will be a hard fought tight game. Mia gave the NFC south a run this preseason. I think the 3-4 defense gives them fits. Remember ATL defense is nothing that WOWS you. I live in NC so I know the NFC south. this will be more of running and a control the pace game. The way MIA like it
Mia+4/Mia ML/ Mia under are my early leans

Falcons offense is way to deadly , and though there defense may not WOW you , it will stop you lead by all star linebacker Curtis Lofton . Who is covering Roddy White ? Who is covering Tony G ? Who is covering Mike Jenkins ? and best of all , who is stopping Burner Turner ? Turner will have 150+ easily and about 2 tds .

Like Miami to win let alone the point spread..........thinking Parcells has more up his sleeve and some changes to offense could easily throe Falcons off.

Anyone can make a pick. Anyone can post it on a website. If you are wrong, no consequences occur. No one ever knows how well or how poor of a handicapper you are. It’s time to put your money where your mouth is.
Well, this season for the first time on this forum, I have decided to run a contest which I will personally fund. A grand prize (details of prize given if you join) will be given at the end of the Super Bowl if you win the contest.
How to register:
Please send an email to dsong23@gmail.com with your full name and User ID you use to post on Covers.com. Registration will be taken until Sunday 13th at 12:59PM EST. Since the grand prize is dependent upon the full name given, please do not sign up for more than 1 account or you will regret it when the prize is given.
How to play:
Every week, every registered user must post on the appropriate Covers.com game thread their NFL picks against the point spread according to the Las Vegas Hilton betting line ONLY. Each player will be required to place a wager on 2 NFL games at minimum EVERY week and 5 NFL games maximum.
How to place your wager:
Because of the fluctuation in the betting lines during the week, every wager will be assigned the Hilton spread closest to the time where Covers.com updates their line history page. When making a bet, every registered contestant should send an email to dsong23@gmail.com with the heading “Covers.com Contest – (Your User ID)”. All emails which are not addressed with this heading will NOT be accepted. If you do not bet the minimum of 2 games in a week, you will automatically be removed from the contest the following week.
For example: NFL Football – Tennessee @ Pittsburgh on Thursday September 10, 2009
If a wager was made and sent to me via email at 9/5/09 at 9:00 PM, that user will receive the Pittsburgh -5.5 line rather than the Pittsburgh -5 line. Unfortunately, this is the fairest way to resolve this issue because I will not always view a user’s pick at the moment in which he/she makes the pick.
Every bet is made in a single unit bet. Therefore, you cannot make one game you pick more than a single unit.
How to win:
There will be one (1) grand prize awarded at the end of the Super Bowl for the person who has the highest winning %. No award will be given for the highest number of wins because some users making 5 bets a week will have a greater advantage for this award. However, in case of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the user with the highest number of wins since it is more difficult to have a higher winning percentage picking 5 games a week than 2 games.
Good luck to everyone,
David (Backroads23)

Fish have been money first 2 weeks of the season last 3 years......Can they reverse the trend in Hotlanta.
Just wondering BigDaddy...
Hard to say my friend. Miami's preseason was one of the rare times that all the opponnents they faced in preseason they will play again in the regular season. So either Miami held back on offense during the preseason or Miami's offense sucks that bad.
Knowing Parcells and Co. they probably held back a bit on plays. Pat White was never involved in any wild cat or "wild Pat" packages during the preseason and you know that they must have packages for him or why would they draft him so high.
Looks like Miami is going with the WR's by committee this season. They kept a lot of TE's & Wr's on their 53 man roster with no clear number 1 WR.
Defense looked solid while the special teams was well below average in the preseason so they really need to work on that. A lot of depth on both sides of the ball for Miami this season so it will be interesting to see how efficient the players will be with more rest but with less amount of snaps.
Chad P has secured the starting job and I wouldn't say he has a cannon of an arm but it does look stronger this season. I basically don't think Henne is ready but he would have the better arm to get that deep threat going.
Anyway I rarely wager on Dolphins games so of course my heart will be with my fins in this one.
Good luck my friend

BigDaddy, let me first tell you, your very good at what you do. I live in Miami and of course a big Dolphin fan. I feel Miami has also been holding back on their rush defense. I see alot of sacks this game and upcoming year. Once last thing,,the Dolphins players really like eachother. Unlike other teams in the league. GL

Thanks for the props but like I normally tell my friends on here I just try to help and get lucky sometimes. Not on here to win a popularity contest or get recognized as a great capper (which I am very far from being) but just love to help whenever I can.
Anyway....I have been a huge Dolphin fan since the days of Czonka, Griese, Blackwood bros, A.J. Duhe, of course Marino & the Marks bros, etc. you get the point. Really loved when Miami started picking up some guys from Hawaii. Too bad for Satele but really like that Davone Bess is still hanging in there. I'm praying that the Dolphins gets him a new contract.
I agree with you that Porter & Taylor makes a better combo under Tuna & Co. and possibly more sacks to come this season. They can also mix it up with Wake & Crowder.
Would love for the Dolphins to prove the critics wrong this season by taking the AFC East again but I guess we will have to wait and see and it all starts this Sunday...
Good luck this season
and of course Go Dolphins!!!!

Judging by ur name alone i would not take ur advise just because the fact atlanta is in ur name. Atlanta's defense is horrible miami's wild cat should have a field day and for atlanta's offense the test will be a very effective miami defense. Pennington struggles against good defenses as we all saw last year but picked apart mediocre defenses -4 is really appealing when most miami games are close :D

I like the Dolphins ML. I think this team still feels disrespected even after last season. Many think it was a fluke and are picking the Pats to win the division. IMO Smith being named coach of the year was a COS and I think Mia players feel that way too. The media loves Atl. And everyone loves Matt Ryan including a few Dolphin fins who still cry about him not being the pick.
